Not a lover of the looks but there is no denying it's capabilities. The most impressive car to hit the streets in the last five years (excluding the Veyron of course).

Due to insurance reasons I couldn't drive it.

But I had a passenger seat ride. Engine feels very strong, almost no lag.
Gear changes very fast and perfect, still automatic for economy drive works just fine (very DSG style).
Car looks better IRL than in pictures.
Interior. Higher quality than expected.

That was my take on those two accounts seeing one in real life. Still can't comment on speed/handling since I have yet to drive/be driven in one.

I know someone who has cancelled his order for his, said it was a brilliant car on the track, fast as hell and responsive like a house fly but dull as dishwater on the road, and would have ended up sticking it in a tree by being soooo bored that he would have been playing space invaders on the copmuter!

Don't know myself........undecided

I live in Belgium. as the second to order it. I got attracted by the excellent performance vs price aspect which is indeed unbeatable.... I placed the deposit which was refundable.

after three months and seing the car at different shows i just realized how simple this car was design was. its not a sexy car... it has no class... and I discovered that what I like about cars are in the AUDi designs... and I prefer to loose some performance but have a car that I can admire designwise as well...

I got back my deposit and that was th end of the story.

waiting for TT R(S) and RS5, it will be one of these two cars that I will go for. this is a second car. my first one daily one, is on order to replcade my old A4 B7 TDI and will be a A4 AVANT B8 TDI... so I am a 100% AUDI guy...

The RS5 will be a killer, for sure. Very similar specs to the GTR actually. Except 2 more cylinders :D

The GTR is for sure a great car, BUT it is not an Audi

Which B7 have you got and what are you aming for in the B8 (engine wise)?

I don't bother with write-ups on these boards, the brand zealotry runs too deep, particularly with the German marquees.

lol, I think that's a little harsh. BTW, I don't think the RS5 is going to be worth it, how much money for what kind of HP? Ya.

Well, if ICONCLS won't talk (write) about his wife's new ride, I will:

(based on 2 "limited" test-drives...)

Interior: MUCH nicer than I'd expected. Well-designed and seems quite solid. No Audi, but in a different league than any previous Nissan. Nice seats, too. One gripe previously mentioned in a road test, and which I have to call out: The speedo design leaves ~250 degrees of the needle's sweep useless, at least anywhere off the Autobahn. 0 mph is 6 o'clock, 100 mph is about 10 o'clock, IIRC, making the speedo harder to read than it should be.

Exterior: Not beautiful, but unique, purposeful and aggressive.

Acceleration: Ridiculous. Anything more than about 5 seconds of full throttle from a dead stop will get you a BIG speeding ticket anywhere in the US. Fun, but frustrating at the same time. Since ICONCLS's wife wants to keep her warranty intact, we didn't try "Launch Control".

Braking: Stupendous. GINORMOUS Brembos do the job you'd expect.

Handling/Steering: The car feels utterly GLUED to the road - rock-solid steady, no matter what I tried. The ride is better than I'd have thought possible, given the handling. Thanks go to a long wheelbase and centrally-located seating. The steering bears special mention: I've never driven any street car with steering that's so quick and direct, yet so natural feeling. Nigh-perfect, IMO.

Overall: It's everything you've read that it is. It's like the perfect blend of a 993 911TT and an RS 6, with 10 years of added development and refinement. :revs:

So it's as if my 993TT doinked my RS 6 and this would be the fruit of said coupling.

I'd sign to that as well.

Don't know how to describe the design however... :vhmmm:

A solid A+ on performance and a D- on packaging. Would love to own one, but simply can't get over the styling.

Not sure why some here have a thing about the styling. In the eye of the beholder I suppose. Personally I think Nissan did a great job of heavily updating the car's look, while at the same time, not alienating the fans of the old design (which BTW is Audi's motto as well. Well, that is until they have now followed the bangle crowd. ;)).

Icon, I would wager you'd admit this crowd is not quite as much of Audi "zealots" as the AW crowd. Although can't speak for all here... :D

BTW, how many miles on the :rs6kiss: now?

Mind if I ask if you've driven an NSX? Good question, I am also currious as to how it would compare. Although the power has to destroy it (stock hp, not yours!), I can't imagine it being as nimble...

Ben:addict:

As it happens, I have indeed driven an NSX, but it was in 1990 (man, I'm getting old!). Certainly the NSX is more nimble, and the handling is/was sublime, along with the steering. I recall that the engine note was incredible, as well.

However, the GT-R is more planted, solid, and infinitely more capable.

Which is more fun to drive? - good question, that - I'm not sure I could answer...

115K and (seemingly) going strong. I have recently jumped on a list for an B8 RS 5 since it's rumored to have forced induction and will probably have a better chance of coming stateside than C6 RS 6, but I'd be content with either.

Yes, the RS5 will have V8 TT, ~450 hp, quattro and DSG.
Release in mid-2009 probably.

For real?
Is that new information because most people believe it will be a NA V8.

Hey Roger,
I noted NAGTROC you finally took delivery, congrats. I seem to recall there is even a third guy there with our combo.

BTW, break-in is positively excruciating.

I putted it around today, mostly in auto mode. I kept it under 3000 rpm, that's about 82 in sixth - I got there once or twice or our curving farm roads following the creeks. I've got 83 miles on it now, it was delivered with 34. Here it is in the back lot at the office.
