Owning a big house is no pleasure at the moment, I can tell you. My electric bill is going to over £3k per year.

May I ask how big your home is? I am not trying to be nosey (well, maybe slightly :D) but the Brits have a different impression of big than us Yanks. :D

I took it you wouldn't mind working till 55. But after re-reading your post, I can see that if you are unhappy, then retiring at 30 wouldn't be so bad. ;)
