Aparently Mercedes is preparing two AMG versions of future E class, E 63 AMG with N/A V8 and one with V8 bi-turbo engine...

The E63 had an awesome engine period, but was a scary car around corners given the road conditions we have. Current C63 is a much better car and the late RS6 was a better all-rounder.

LOL guys... all Audis seem to be "beautiful" and everything else... well, just get the barf bag (Astons excepted).

Me, No, I do not think the new E class is beautiful, and YES, it is a major copy of the GS Lexus ( a design I happen to like very much), and not a very great copy to boot.

Overall, I will wait till I see it in the flesh. Personally, despite all the "ugly" labels thrown around at other brands, I was having this conversation with Richard and Greg at the LA Auto Show that IMHO, Audi has lost the subtle Bauhaus look and gone after the Bangle crowd (i.e. new A4/A5 and new TT). Volvo (again, no offense, only IMHO) is doing more Bauhaus than Audi.

I feel that Audi has done a much nicer job with the Bangle flame surfacing and bottom rockers, but the influence is still there. It is one reason I find the new Audis less attractive than the old (with the OBVIOUS exception of the drop dead gorgeous R8 :heart: ).

there is NO discussion here. this is without a doubt the ugliest merc i have ever seen. first gen C-class sportback included. the rear looks worse than a second gen infiniti Q45 and borders on korean-design offensive.

Once upon a time ... Toyota started to copy BM by Lexus when the marque was far behind in its concept design. And now MB is presenting very strange designs is MB doing recently!

4 foglights - that looks so riceeeeee :doh: (there are apparently two versions: 1. 4 "fog" lights, 2. led band) - can be seen in the catalogue scans

and i don't care if two of them are for fog and the other for turning lights.

I can't really put my finger on it, but there is something not right with the exterior appearance of the new E-Class. Did they try to mesh a 50s MB with a current generation or what? It looks too busy and edgy. Lacks the refined clean profile of the A6 in S-Line or form.

But now with this new 2 edgy lights on each side it looks pretty flashy. But the back looks very cheap. i dont know what they did wrong but it does not look "premium".

Completely disagree,I loved the “2 round fried eggs” lights. I loved the styling of every 1 of their previous models but think the new Merc’s look absolutely ridiculous.The front lights on the SL & C class look like they were quickly designed at the last minute.....Very plain.The E class front lights r a Lexus rip off.Merc has clearly run out of ideas.

For years now Audi is the only car manufacture that does not consistently make me laugh every time they release a new model.
