View Full Version : Chipped or not

I recently purchased an '03 RS6.
Can anyone tell me how to determine if my car has been chipped?
The black plastic cover over the CPU was missing one of the bolts(at the rear where it's hard to reach) and there are some grinding marks next to one of the rivets/screws needed to remove the metal over the CPU.
Any thoughts from anyone?

Thanks
Bill

Bill,

The easiest way would be to log block 115 with a VAG-COM tool. This data block will show you requested boost along with actual boost.

Another way would be to open up the ECU and check to see if it has a circuit board on "risers" with an encryption chip glued on underneath. Not all tuners use this method, although most do. Some tuners such as myself and Revo will flash the stock eprom, making it undetectable by the naked eye.

If you want to post some block 115 logs and/or photos of your board, I'd be happy to take a look for you.

I think I'll open it up and have a look. (hopefully this weekend). I'll take pics, and see if I can figure out how to post them.
thanks
