Having done some searching, I wanted to get your feedback owing the RS6 in Texas. Some of the posts on this board would suggest that its not a good idea given the heat and lack of elevation. From April - Sept its pretty much 100 degrees+

Given that I am searching for a pristine example and will likely spend $40-50k for this 5 yr old car, it would suck to find out that the Texas heat is bad for the turbos and hard on the car's performance.

Temp issues. The Rs6 does carry alot of heat - but it can be mitagated.
There are happy owners in Dubai, Saudi, Aussi.. plenty of very hot countries.
There are some things you can do with the car to bring the temp issues down.
You could go with a CO2 cooling option - on demand - for your fuel line and intercoolers.. they also make a bulb for the intakes but thats only up to 3" pipe... you would need to get a bulb and custom fit to a 4" section of intake line. (i'm concerned that the bulb may frost then the condensation would get pulled through to the intercoolers and settle out / corrode them. Or pool up then get sucked through to engine...I need more info on this possibility)

Sportec makes an improved intercooler / intake kit. Expensive but effective.

I just finished a hood mod. to improve airflow through the Rad. and out the engine compartment. Engine oil temp down by 20-25'. (ref post. hood vents / lip spoilers for pics.
MTM of Germany has a hood vent kit for the RS6 with about the same temp effect. http://www.mtm-online.de/en/index.p (http://www.mtm-online.de/en/index.php?nav=2&id=22)hp?nav=2&id=22 (http://www.mtm-online.de/en/index.php?nav=2&id=22)

So there are options... like i said many are happy with the car in hot climates.. The RS6 is an amazing car and will bring much happiness - If your serious about getting the max performance out of the beast you should consider a cooling solution part of the cost as with any high performance car run hard in a hot climate.
Hope thats helpful..

peiserg - how about some details or a write up on your install. I was looking into the aquamist system awhile and would love to see your install pics.. Tank etc. details on where you tied in the jets ... ran the lines.. No software changes right??? How do you activate... max pedal to trigger or?? How often you refill the tank / size and R U running straight water??
All the helpful info you can think of - PLease!!!!!!

My Bad - thats not the water injection system is it?? but still any info would be excellent.

I don't think there will be any problem in TX heat as I used to live in Austin. I would just say use a top quality synthetic like Redline for the engine. Always idle it for a minute after running it even though it has the Turbo coolant electric pumps, and use a bottle of Redline Waterwetter in the coolant. Garage it and park it in the shade as much as possible when your away from home. If you can, find one with the hot WX option with the sunshades and solar cell sunroof for interior cooling when the car is parked in the sun, and of course, always use a sunshade.

If the ECU/mapping is any bit as good as our E55 AMG...which we drive in 110 degree AZ heat....you will have no problems.

Sure the car wont be quite as fast as in 80 degree temps. But, it will still be a blast.

MTM also provides very efficient intercooler. I have one on my 2003 RS6, I am in Taiwan (hot country, too), the intercooler could drop oil temp 15 to 20 degree C on my MTM 535 hp version RS6.
