So what, they're both plenty fast.

Thanks for the news, Gustav.

But there's one thing with the new E55K AMG Estate (dunno where the T came from, in it's title?)...the rear end resembles a hearse more than anything now. I don't think the bodywork being low at the rear helps it at all.

Anyone know where the T came from in it's title? It isn't a turbo from what I know?....Tearse? Maybe ;) Terrible I know!

Thanks again.

P.S Maybe better suited in the "All High Performance Cars" part of the forum. :)

And in six months or so there will be something faster. The statement that there is something faster will ALWAYS be true. So it pretty much goes without saying.

My guess is that "T" is short for "Touring", just like the BMW 540i T is the station wagon (or "avant" in Audi terms) version of the 540i.

I have never gone over 125 MPH in my 540 and I doubt I will do it in the RS 6. Whether a car can go 155, 180, or 200 is meaningless to me as well. However, 0-60 in 4.5 without needing to shred tires to do it would be nice. I think I'm gonna love quattro.

It's pretty dissapointing that the owner of BMWM5.com would troll on another board.

I am currently a RS6 owner and am still in love with the E39 M5, but based on the Thread here, if the E55 T will toast the RS6, what will it do to the current M5?

Dude, grow up!

Hi Klint,

The "T" in the MB line-up stands for "Transport"

Oops, sorry. Wasn't meant to be a troll post, rather a informational post since it's news.

Yes, the E55 is indeed very much faster than the M5 E39 as well as the 996 Turbo up to 300 km/h which I think is impressive for a family estate.

I tried to delete this post but i do not have the rights.

For your information I posted

"Please give us an M5 Touring: the new E55 AMG T is here!"

on bmwm5.com whivch I do not think is trolling either. Sorry if my post was upsetting some members here.

Hm, cute car they've put together there. Mighty impressive figures, I'll bet the price tag will upset a couple of buyers too. :D

But It'll take a lot more then that to push the RS 6 from its throne.

Audi - the cool sport concept.
Mercerdes - comfort, but a little bit of "old-executive-style".
BMW - Don't even go there. Sorry Gustav :p .

Forgot, thanks for the link. Interesting reading whatever car brand you prefer.

and I just noticed......dont you mean estate? sedan is a four door car and the E55 T is a wagon or estate depending on country.

I have to say it is the look on peoples' faces that is most important. I have a wife and 3 kids for much of the time in the car and even with a couple of mountain bikes on the roof I can spoil the flash g*t's day when he is showing off in his MR2/Z3/Golf GTI

I am a currently a V70 R man but looking for the next ultimate estate - the numbers say the RS6 but there are dissenters.

Having been the only person who got into Flaine in the winter one weekend 3 years ago I agree on the purpose of 4 wheel drives but I would add that going round the outside of a 5 series Alpina on a roundabout is also a useful attribute.
