The Ur-TT was a average car and a design icoon.
The Mk2 is a much better car with great design.

But have the TT a future within Audi, Which way can it go.
It can't get that much bigger because of the A5/S5/RS5.
It can't get any smaller because it will slide down to another leaque like the Mazda MX5.
It can't get a mid engined car (R4) because of the Boxster/Cayman.
And a small mid engined 4 cylinder turbo car (R3 ?) with only up to 220 hp is not a option either.
Another down side of a mid engined car is usability.

That leave us with a longitudinal transaxeal front engined TT Mk3 (GT-R style).
The engines coult be R4T's, R5T or/and V6 TFSI Superchharged.
And a TT Mk3 would/could probably the best TT ever.

Jarod.

I don't understand what you're trying to say...

I think the tittle is confusing as well. Starting to lose it usually means doing worse than before.

I think that gen 3 TT will have a similar layout to the previous two. I don't think that an R3 type vehicle will replace the TT.
