^I seem to recall that there isn't much in the difference. I reckon the TT only appears faster on the straight because it's gearing is relatively shorter, i.e. 3rd ends at 101mph, whereas 3rd in the GT3 ends at nearly 120mph.

2nd Gear: ~70mph (~84mph)
3rd Gear: 101mph (~120mph)
4th Gear: ~126mph (~150mph)
5th Gear: ~154mph (~180mph)

Pull the GT3's gears in and there's sod all in the difference (aside from traction).
