A 33 year old Man from the town "Woerden" have crashed an Audi R8 during a test
drive.
He made Saturday afternoon a test drive with a brand-new Audi R8 that not end
very well.
He made a drivers mistake and the R8 end as a result of it in a ditch.
The car is for certain a total loose, the driver and passenger remained unhurt.
The R8 stands at us in "Bodegraven" and is probably no longer repairable say
director Westdijk of Van Beynum car repair Ltd.
He values the total damage on ± 200.000,- Euro's.
On the road "Milandweg" in the village "Woerdense verlaat" where 80 Km/h have
been permitted, but according to the neighbouring people the R8 drove a lot
faster then 80 Km/h.
Rumours say 200 km/h would be closer to the truth.
According to the police, the driver and driver's mate have however explained
that they drove approximately 130 kilometres per hour...

Have you seen how bumpy that road is! Even 80km seems a lot on that kind of road.

My bet his that the driver simply jumped on one of those bumps and lost control. You can also see that one of the wheel got of the road a bit.

i agree on the bumps on the road issue. probably lost the rear at some point, car oversteered, didn't know what to do and.... splish splash rubber duckie....

AHA!!! That tells the entires story right there.

There is no such thing as a 33 year old man - we're all BOYS until we're at miniumum 35.

I waited until I was 40 and had my body start to inform me that I'd grown up - damn. I have to quit breaking bones... I don't bounce off the ground like I used to and I'm not going to give up motocross.

Looks like they are trying to "repair" it and make it go again?

Wow, just saw these new pics. That explains the write-off, but both the sales guy and driver can thank their lucky star. Anything else than some forgiving river beds and they'd be in ER right now...

That accident could have been the in-car camera video of the century. Wonder what went through their minds as they were spinning over water?

In the USA, that would be a Salvaged NEW car as there hasn't been a registered owner...

This is there demo car, and it's registered owned by the dealer to get it on the road for testdrives.
