CGT sounds fantastic... but there's something about the S8's sound (and soon the R8 V10) that almost makes me put that at #1...

I was once sitting at an outdoor restaurant in Downtown Atlanta about 2-3 years ago. While I was eating I heard the most beautiful exhaust sound I've ever heard. I start looking left and right to see where it's coming from but to no avail. About 2 minutes later the car flys by and I heard the sound again.

Are we allowed to include race cars? If so my nomination would be the LMGT1 Corvette C6.Rs. Listening to those things blasting round La Sarthe for twenty four hours was the most incredible sound I have ever heard from anything on four wheels.
Ironically the fastest cars on the circuit - the Audi R10 TDi and Peugeot 908 HDi FAP LMP1 cars sound like vacuum cleaners. :lovl:

Actually you're not allowed but nice to share it with us:)
They sound like vacuum cleaners but win everything because they can drive for a longer time without tanking...
I love to see an hear a video where the C6 RS6 open the taps with the optional sportsexhaust!!

The Vantage has an active exhaust. The sound is 'fake'. A lot of people like it. I don't really... I heard it next to me when a Vantage passed me and my window was open and it's a nice sound but not the one you wanna hear out of a V8. It's not the sound where you would say: this car has something serious under the bonnet. With the CGT, Zonda, ... it's another story
