The OC Caravan for the Big Socaleuro Gathering 2008 will be meeting at the Irvine Spectrum Center's G lot. It is located behind the Target (flyer photo is of the G lot). We ask that everyone is respectful of the property and each other. The speed of the caravan will be moderate and speeders will not be tolerated. The point of a caravan is to keep everyone together anyways. Lets make this huge like last year!

Haha Don't we wish! We need a Socal Autobahn. That would be a mess...

Thanks for positive words! :thumb:

Ok, where the "F" was anyone from this forum?!? I feel like a red-headed-stepchild...

GIAC, Hotchkiss was there. Brembo was there.

It should have been called the BMW euroshow, a glut of M3's and GTI's.
I think I saw 2 RS4. There was a very nice quattro right hand drive. A rennsport C63. A GT-R (photos to come).

Are we REALLY in a resession? There were a ton of nice cars. Only two hot chicks there...

anyone else?

LOL, the fact that there were so few hot chicks leads me to believe that being out of the country on a business trip turned out to be a good thing! Hehe, sorry that you didn't see any of the other guys though.

ouch, so I wasn't the only one who forgot?
I still have mine to sell -- desperately.

though I did see one today while I was riding my bicycle around the westside of LA. license plate said "500GBP" centered, had a nice sport exhaust.

I was hoping to meet someone who knew someone who would be interested in joining the awesome RS6 community. unfortunately other obligations had me miss this. damn.

That is EXACTLY how I felt. I walked around like a dork looking for anyone I recognized. Sorry Ben I didn't spot you (of course, it would have helped if I had known what you looked like ;)).

I caravanned with the Irvine guys. Some very fast guys in that caravan. Some also not so bright guys. The caravan even got lost. :stick: Oh well...

I hung out till 12pm and then bailed, didn't feel like waiting for the Gumball guys to finally show up...

I got there at like 12:15 as I had to visit Costco for some gas. Then in to the grounds. I nearly got t-boned by some young punk in a 540 that thought he had the right of way...

So south on I-5 or I-15?
I-15 is a no-brainer, sorry.
I-5 to East 8 then N on I-15 for one exit?!?! (Thanks Cal-Trans, but there is a great cloverleaf there!)
OR did you go I-5 to the 74 Ortega to S I-15 and then to 79 via Palomar and then Wildcat Canyon road....

There will be another time...

South on I-5... you would think that would still be easy enough... But our leader got off at some exit before the 8... It was funny watching @ 20 of us flipping a U-Turn. :D There was hundreds of cars in the caravan, unfortunately, no one wanted to all stay together. Everyone seemed too busy to race each other... with the exception of a small MBenz group. Very nice behavior from them.

Yeah, people don't really understand the point of a caravan. They think it's a big race. My photos from the caravan are here: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=3891917&page=3

Thanks for the pics. :thumb: The only one I could see my car in is 4th from the bottom pic where I leapfrogged the line to turn right at the stadium. I am the last car in the left hand lane. ;)

You're welcome! ;) Yeah I remember seeing your car at the Spectrum, but not driving. Very nice car indeed. :thumb: You should try and make it to our monthly meet at In-N-Out. The next one is on the 28th.
