Beleive it or not...must have been one of the strangest things in Mr. Pirro's career.

Interesting. Was it a PR event by Audi AG?

Considering the fact that the R 8 is followed by approx. 10 or more Audi's (look at the second picture from above) , I'm pretty sure it was some kind of PR event.

Very cool view though! :0:

If Monte Carlo can do it, why can't Beijing? :D

Audi opened a new Audi Forum in Beijing :asian: , the first in Asia.

Here you can read about it:

China seems to be a good soil for Audi :D

Yes it's an Audi PR event.

One thing I can tell you, the chinese taxis are really uncomfortable. I'd much rather be in the R8 :D

Seb and Erik, thanks for the info. Good they have established even greater presence into the Chinese market. Now I just hope they won't consider manufacturing Audi's out of China as they've done to the VW cabs there.

Snow, thanks for nothing :hihi:

So would I! But it might be a little unpractical around city blocks. Things to consider: low ride height, stiff suspension, twitchy gas pedal... :D

FYI
Audi has a considerable car production capacity in China, the A6 goes down particularly well.

This Chinese A6 has a slightly longer wheelbase for rear passanger comfort. I guess the Chinese officials are slightly taller then the common folks :D

To my knowladge it is only sold in China, the same is true to the localy build A4, which was introduced there in April.

Hm, I guess I could live with the "twitchy" gas pedal... :hihi:

With all that power on top, I'd just be concerned with putting the right amount of pressure on the accelerator in city traffic.

Now, on the track, however... :incar: :MTM: :race:

Cheers,

R+C and Seb, that's interesting to know. I never saw a Chinese-spec Audi before and the ones in the HK market are all European spec ones. Don't think we are missing out on anything though, except maybe the lwb A6 for the rear passengers.

Exactly my point - an Audi is TO BE DRIVEN afterall :incar: , NOT to be driven around with :alig:

I'm sure our RS6 owners are hard to get out of the driver's seat ;)

Hit the nail on the head, Erik.

I was considering, Editing your post Chuangs4 but please refrain yourself from such comments please. i.e Britain is richer than Taiwan and why does Taiwan...etc etc. :bye:

Being richer than another person or place doesn't make you neccesarily better. I think China was a more suitable location than Taiwan, being more traditional and 'mistique'.

No intention to invade people in China...I just want to say that if Audi couldn't make such effort in promoting their products in TW,they would never be the competitor of BMW here!Tha't the "Audi only" people's opinion from a small market place in Asia!!:vsad:
