I recieved the following details from dealer:

Status 10 - Has not been released for production yet.

Planned Ship Loaded - 10/22
Planned Port Arrived - 11/17
Planned Release to Carrier - 11/26
Planned Dealer Delivered - 12/1


What has the experience been in delays? And with a weak dollar, do you think allocations will be cut to USA, which could delay production? Thoughts?

that looks about right. patience. patience.

my own order, a VIP order, seemed to take forever. but they do take their time as they are made by hand. further, i am sure that some inventory is shifted to other markets when the exchange rates are this bad. this may delay orders though audi would never want to admit it. at least you'll escape the expected mid year price increase in Q1 2009 for the US (rumored 2K more).

chances are they may move your order up a couple of weeks.

how did you spec it?

VIP Order...white ext. with carbon sigma blades, interior, engine bay...black extended leather, alcantra headliner, b&O, manual tranny, nav, etc...

nice spec. the more stuff the better!

the only bittersweet item of interest is that the V10 will have been recently introduced and the first orders will likely be arriving in certain parts of europe by Q1 2009. on the other hand, the car is so powerful that you wouldn't be able to enjoy the V10 that much more on a daily basis anyway :R8kiss:

Say you recieve the order in the middle of Q1 timeframe (even though you placed the order months in advance, would you be responsible for the price increase???

qisha- i like it much better! wonder why audi didn't do that in the first place. is that V10 btw? when will we know more?

I'm thinking a V10 premier at Paris. That seems most likely.
