There are indication's that the new R8 V10 will have 400 kW/540 Nm.

398.5 ft/lbs.... no surprise there. that is what the NA V10 puts out--- in the lambo and, similarly, in the S8.

Yup, i pretty much expected the torque figure to lie just below the 400lb/ft mark. Does anyone think the R8's V10 will rev higher than it's lambo counterpart? I wouldnt mind hearing the V10 at 9000 RPM.

good point Damien. i think the LP's revs to 8500 rpm... i hope audi was smart and held nothing back in the V10 R8. indeed, with the magnetic ride being an option only on the R8, perhaps it will indeed lap the ring faster than the LP.
lambo eat your heart out....
this will be the R8 that should have always been. it's also getting scary what this car could do with a DSG equipped clubsport version. do the ring in 7 flat maybe?

I don't think there will be a DSG in either the R8 of the Gallardo. From what I heard, it doesn't fit.

400 kw is 536 horsepower so there is no need for the R8 V10 to rev anymore than the Gallardo V10.

I don't think there will be a DSG in either the R8 of the Gallardo. From what I heard, it doesn't fit.
The current VW DSG is only good for 400Nm at present as far as I know but maybe Porsche will lend Audi their PDK now that they're family.

You can see the Porsche PDK as a 180 degree turned VW 4Motion system, you can't use it in the R8.
The Porsche is a rear engined car with the 4x4 gearbox in front of the engine.
The R8 is a mid engined car with the Quattro gearbox behind the engine.
It will not work not even in the Boxster/Cayman.

The best thing ever for Audi.
Instead of VW/Audi products you get Audi/Porsche products in the future, the best of both worlds.
