All I can say, Volvo Trucks and Scania weren't allowed to merge, but VW and Scania is???

VW has not taken over Scania. They raised their stake in the company and this is nothing new about it, the strange part of it is that VW is allowed to buy more shares without bidding for the whole company. VW bought Investors Scania-shares @ 200 SEK, now the shares is down @ 95 SEK.
It will take years and years before we will see anything constructive as a matter of joint R&D or production.
Nothing new, at all.
