Smart solution... N/A engines are slowly going to ''retirement''...

Not much of a surprise to see this happening because Audi has proved beyond doubt that the RS6 is a superior package that not only produces more power and torque everywhere but it more economical as well.

The question is whether BMW's M department can produce an engine the equal of Audi.:vhmmm:

I have always been a huge fan of turbos,my Series 6 RX 7 was an amazing car.

With the 550 & 650 receiving twin turbo V8’s,I was certain BMW would use a V10 TT for the new M5.The V10 is an amazing engine only let down by its poor low end power & the world’s worst gearbox. The TT set up would have addressed the bottom end power issue & M DCT would have addressed the gearbox issue.
Oh well,a TT V8 with M DCT will still be a lethal combination. My only reservation is the cars styling.I suspect we will have an extremely fast but UGLY car.

Merc is replacing the AMG 6.2 L engine with a 5.5L TT in the CLS & E Class AMG models.
The tuners are going to make our lives very entertaining.

At this point in time I would like to hold hands & remember the legendary 2.7 L twinturbo weapon that Audi no longer.....I can’t even bring myself to say it.

Only certain thing is that BMW will make next M5 engine turbo, but we can't know for sure is it going to be V8 or V10. Personally, I expect V10, most of all becouse Audi is with V10 turbo in RS 6.

Strange observation but there currently seems to be a parallel between the horsepower wars and the cost of fuel...
