LMAO at that CSL chop. Anyway, I look at it like this:

A5 vs 3 series regular models
S5 vs 335i
RS5 vs M3/CSL

I think the S5 and 335i are just about equal but it does depend on what you are looking for from the cars. I think the RS5 will blow the M3 away BUT it might not be enough for the CSL if the CSL saves a lot of weight.

Will Audi build an RS5 Plus? Again, I think it's a very small posibility like the RS6 Plus. These models always depend on how their RS counterparts are perceived in the market and sales volume. Put simply, if there is demand the Plus models might be produced. I doubt it though. Just think of the prices...

I think the new 2009 V6 3.0TFSI supercharged S5 will wipe the floor with the 335i coupe'.

And the RS5 doesn't?

How much will the RS5 weight? Because the M3 weights about 3600 lbs.

Weight is an issue but as the RS6 has proven, excessive weight compared to it's competitors doesn't necessarily mean you will lose, the RS6 has been up to 5 seconds quicker on the track compared to the M5Estate and has yet to lose a handling chalenge to any rival, plus it's quicker than all of them, it's easier to drive quickly than any of them and it's more economical too.

With the right engine ;), the prefect gearbox ;), the latest Quattro system ;) and the right weight balance it will be more likely a case of saying, 'M3, what M3?' :hihi:

The question is, how much is Audi willing to infest to developing a RS5.
If they go for ultimate performance and low weight and they use aluminium for the front fenders, bonnet and doors.
Also put in low weight sportseats and use a lot of alloy suspension parts and ceramic brakes.
And maybe they will end up with a RS5 weighing on the downside of 1560 Kg.
With a ± 450 hp HDZ 4.2 V8 FSI engine under the bonnet it will perform quite well IMHO.
But on the other end they can go the economical route and we will end up with a 1700 Kg+ RS5.
