Yes, these pics come from the latest issue of Autoweek. I do not know where they got them from or how remotely representative they are of any actual A7. But we are getting closer as the prototypes have been spotted although camoflagued.

In the article they wrote this:

There will be an S7 and an RS7

There will be a V6 petrol and diesel HYBRID engines! (!!)

Other engines: 204Hp 2.8 liter petrol, 300Hp 3,0TFSI, 394Hp 4.0TFSI in the S7, and the RS6 engine with 600Hp in the RS7!

Diesels...3.0TTDI and 4.2TDI!

They also mentioned a manual with 8 gears (!?) and an 7 gear S-Tronic...

There is alot here that might not be true :D

I'm sure it will look good eventually. This is the extreme A7, like they always do in drawings and concept cars. OK, this is not a concept but believe me: we won't hate it.

The flowing lines of the coupe-sedan seem to be increasingly appealing in Germany with four of the countries top brands now releasing similar designs. The A7 will be based on the A6 platform and utilise aluminium (with steel reinforcement in key areas) to reduce weight.

Engines begin with a 2.8-litre V6 FSI with optional 3.0-litre V6 on the petrol front with diesel models said to include a 2.7-litre TDI (single turbo) or 3.0-litre TDI (twin turbo).

Meanwhile the range topping RS7 will feature air suspension and a 5.0-litre twin turbo V10 which will be shared by the S7, albeit slightly detuned. A hybrid version is also expected to be made available shortly after initial release.

Any rumours on when the RS7 (with the V10TT and 600+ HP) might be released, and, more importantly for the USA market, whether Audi will send the car to the states?

lets get the A7 first. though i believe audi will release both the A7 and S7 together it will not be up for sale till at least the 2010 CY as a 2011 MY car. RS7? probably two years later.

Is the A7/8 and the Panamera basically one and the same, in the same way as the Touareg and the Cayenne were.

I know that the Panamera doesn't have anything in common with their big SUV and I can't believe that Porsche did it all themselves this time round.

I think you might be onto something there (not that I have any insider knowledge) We'll just have to compare wheelbases when the A7 comes out.

However, this article says the opposite, that the Panamera is on its own platform that's related to Cayenne/Touareg/Q7.

The Panamera (or perhaps the Panabomination) is independent of the Audi platforms. Plus the spy shots of the Panamera interior are disappointing. I am much more attracted to the Audi interiors' classic and sporty conservative styling.

The back is too flat - ugly as hell. But the idea of a CLS or Passat CC is not so bad at all in my opinion.....

If the red one is remotely like what the finished article will look like then it will be fighting with the Panamera for the top award of 'Most ugly'. I sincerely hope Audi catch themselves on and have a design rethink before putting this into production.

Even the concept A7 at the show is not one of Audi's strongest designs of late, it looks like things peaked with the A5, R8, TT and now things are taking a slid.

The red one is just a photoshopped S4 image.
