Thanks KresoF1. I can see it's sporting it's new "S" grille. I like the fact it has less slats but I'm not liking the chrome look. Overall the V10 is looking 99% better.

I dont like the quads too much, Audi fixed it with oval exhausts that fit the bumper better. I think the front/rear vents had too many slats, Audi also fixed that. The huge side-intake look great too. Adds another dimension to the side of the car. :D

too bad we weren't able to get shots of the rims. i love the front grille. and it looks like a US spec version.

would i get more for my r8 now or later? lol

LOOKIN GOOOD!!!. I hope there are more subtle changes to differentiate the v8 and v10. RXBG, sell it now! You will probably make more than what you spent! Get Read for V10 Power!!!!

I would sell it as soon as possible too. You might get more than you made or at least break even at worst. You have a great R8 btw, love the combo.

There are new pics of R8 V10 in full production trim. Just they are too big for posting here... I will try to do something...

Otherwise, members who are registrated on rennteam can see them on sportscars board...

Hey Kreso!

Use Imageshack, but instead of uploading pics from your computer, choose "url", paste the link to the image, and then Imageshack will "take" the pic from the url, upload it to their server and give you a link to a thumbnail which you can post here...

I think it would be the best solution...

You are joking, right :vhmmm:

Why should they stop the V8 version, not every potential R8 customer wants, needs the V10 beast, therefore Audi would loose these customers.

and I assume that the model mix V8 / V10 (units sold) will still be in favour of the V8 variant

No i'm serious about that, it can make sence to replace the V8 for the V10 and create a lot of room for a high performance TT-R with 380+ hp.

as you can see there's something around the grill .... it looks like it's a chrome grill like in the pics from nurburgring :)

@The Pretender...

I don't think they'll replace it - i think they'll do it like lambo - 2 engines but in one car...

There should be no problem with the strong TT-R because someone who wants a R8 - don't mind of a maybe faster TT-R?! don't you think so?

I never see that as a problem, like you say a R8 buyer will not compare it with a fast TT-R but with a Ferrari, Porsche and so on.

Base price of R8 V10 is just right IMHO. I will not post it here yet since Audi monitor this forum...

R8(V8) stays in offer of course!

As I already said in another thread most info about TTR posted here on rs6.com is not accurate...

P.S.

As I addition to current R8 19" wheels there will be also a new 19" wheel design option. Some new items as well on option list but, no suprieses...

Weight? As we predicted here Leadie...

It's all very simple.
You have the 4.2 V8 FSI and you have the 4.2 HDZ V8 FSI.
The same will apply for the 5.2 V10 FSI.
btw, the V10 does not look that much different compare to the V8. ;)

Personally, I dont think it is replacing the R8 for the reasons you mentioned. But Audi can suprise us sometimes so I like to confirm with my source.

The V8 model will be facelifted to look like the updated R8 Spyder I think. Can anyone confirm?

Indeed, since difference between R8 V10 and LP560-4 engines are as marginal as possible...

One other thing from very reliable source-current R8 is more fluid to drive car(as we discussed here before). Of course, R8 V10 is faster.

Only one solution for die hard R8 fans(I am one I admit:R8kiss: )-both R8 and R8 V10, as manuals of course!

RXBG

Kreso and Leadie and Pretender,

Great info you guys are posting. I think we were first on the english speaking net to discuss it once again.

I would be very surprised if Audi introduced the updated A6 line, RS6 sedan, and the V10 R8 all in one day. if they have a V10 R8 parked right outside the forum then it sounds like it will be introduced shortly, though I find it odd because they could have waited until Lexus put out the LF-A....

Nonetheless, this is an exciting time. It would make sense that the V10 will have a slightly heavier rear than the V8 and consequently a trickier handling characteristic. But I I think it will remain much easier to drive than the LP-560 and faster than anything in the entire updated 997 line on the ring- even with their DSG!!!!. I can't wait to see the acceleration numbers..... the M6 and 997 TT will finally have a match in a straight line.

I'd like to see 0-60 in 3.9 officially and 1/4 mile in 11.5 seconds.

ps- standard wheels will have to be different than those on the V8.

let's hope they can keep the premium to less than 30K USD over the V8....

HKS786

Yes, I meant that after we see the R8 Spyder we will see a facelifted model of the R8 V8. The Spyder is supposed to have different headlights. I agree facelifted coupe wont appear anytime soon.

Just hopped on here from one of the other R8 forums. Nice thread. The second they announce the V10 I'll be on the phone with my dealer asking when he can put me in one.

This car is going to kick a lot of ass. I'll most likely keep the V8 as my beater R8 ;) Then I can drive the V8 when it's crappy weather and not care about washing it so often (black.)

I'd like to see a US base price af $139-142K. Enough distance between the V8 and V10 and keep prices high for both.

Now that's what i call Audi dedecation:

R8 V8 as a "beater" - which is of cource an unappropriate describtion for our beauty :hahahehe: - therefore:

R8 V8 - as a daily driver :R8: :incar:

R8 V10 - for the special moments in life :R8kiss:

Just I forgot to say-NO changes on option list for R8 V10.

-just added are new 19" wheels(ricer looking IMHO so, stick with current 19" R8 wheels, either in standard, polished or titanium finish)

-new exterior color addition-Sepang Blue Pearl Effect(seems to be exclusive for R8 V10)

i agree. i use 303 aerospace protectant on all the slots, side engine vents, and engine compartment and it is amazing. rejects dust and when it is time to clean them (and the engine compartment too) it is easy and no streaks or marks are left behind. it also prevents water spots from etching in to the plastic even if water stands and dries on them.
