they still write that 3.0 TFSI (B8 S4) and 4.0 TFSI is biturbo. it is kompressor from all sources. just idiots.

I think they know it's a supercharged engine but they do not know the naming convention that audi is going to use for these types of engines. Thats why the are leaving it as "TFSI".

no when they would know its supercharged then they write it. but they wrote " BITURBO". TFSI for a kompressor engine is stupid also. KFSI would be just logic and perfect.

have you already saw this engine somewhere in an AUDI? i haven't .... so we couldn't know if they'll call it KFSI or TFSI ... IMO it's totally unimportant if TFSI or KFSI ... who of the people really knows what TFSI stands for?!? (except people who really love their car :D )

So i would say it's a marketing thing - to call it TFSI ... and not KFSI or something else.

It's like the 335i. It's not actually running a 3.5l engine under there. The C63 doesnt actually have a 6.3l engine. It has a 6.2l.

Audi RS5
We've already seen the RS5 acknowledged in the 2012 roll out schedule, but this document gives us a bit more. Using the same 4.2-liter V8 in the current S5, the RS5 gets a massive 70kW (96hp) bump from 260kW (354hp) to 331kW (450hp). Such an increase suggests some turbo charging shenanigans are going on, as previously speculated (http://www.worldcarfans.com/9071109.009/audi-rs-5-engine-speculation-and-rendering), however, only the 7-speed dual-clutch S-tronic transmission will be available. The RS5 hits market in July 2010."

The V8 in the RS4 already produces 420, so that's another "mistake" in the article. Not really a mistake the way they say it, but common, the 450hp won't come directly from the 354hp curently on the S5.

pampas,
420hp on RS4 comes from high-revving variant of 340 hp engine and modified engine elements.
450 hp will come from modified 354 hp engine!

Here are some very interesting plans as well. I am not sure they will be to the liking of this Board:

VW CEO threatens to resign if Porsche interferes - report
06.01.08, 12:16 PM ET

FRANKFURT (Thomson Financial) - Volkswagen AG chief executive Martin Winterkorn has threatened to resign if Porsche AG interferes with the group's operations, according to Der Spiegel magazine, citing sources.
The report also said that managers at VW unit Audi are worried the brand could be the first affected once Porsche (other-otc: PSEPF.PK (http://finapps.forbes.com/finapps/jsp/finance/compinfo/CIAtAGlance.jsp?tkr=PSEPF.PK) - news (http://www.forbes.com/markets/company_news.jhtml?ticker=PSEPF.PK)- people (http://www.forbes.com/peopletracker/results.jhtml?startRow=0&name=&ticker=PSEPF.PK)) becomes a majority shareholder (http://www.forbes.com/markets/feeds/afx/2008/04/28/afx4939636.html?partner=lingospot) in the group. Audi is seen as a competitor to Porsche.
Porsche, which owns an about 31 percent shareholding in VW, has said it wants to increase its stake to more than 50 percent this year.

Porsche's over-inflated ego has been hurt by the R8. I guess they realized that Audi can build a much better car than them. If they hurt Audi, Porsche just shoots itself in the foot.

When I first heard of the news of Porsche taking over I was excited! Thinking that more platform sharing would happen (R4/Boxster... Q5/Smaller Porsche SUV)... but if it means that Porsche is going to relook Audi's offering as it competes with Porsche... what a disappointment! If they kill the R8 and TTR (TTRS) and if the Panerama comes into play what next might get killed? Scary times for Audi http://www.vwvortex.com/vwbb/frown.gif The A8? Not to mention the Q7 killing the Cayenne and the Q5 will do the same to Porsche's Cross-Over. Maybe if Porsche made them better looking and actually gave them value for the money, they wouldn't have to be looking at Audi for their problems.

Agreed. RS5 should be a tremendous vehicle. If they can trim say 30-50kg from the S5 or at least make sure it doesn't weigh more then that thing will fly with that 444bhp NA engine and handle almost as well as the R8.

Will never approach R8 handling. For me steering feel is very important.

Maybe not better in steering feel, but the RS5 should be faster than current V8 R8.

i think i agree with you. the RS5 could potentially be faster in a straight. depending upon the specs. as of now, i expect it to be a turboed 4.0 V8 with 475 hp. (an uptuned version of the on that will see duty in the new A8 and A7). with a bit less weight it could be faster in a straight. in the twisties, on a track the R8 will still be quicker.

I think a NA engine is more likely. All guesswork at the moment though.
