Gang, thanks to Richard who forwarded me the link to an Audi only meet in Irvine on the 18th of May at 3pm at the Irvine Spectrum.

http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=203749 for more information.

I'm definitely down and would be a great idea for the local rs6.com
gang to get together for a bite to eat and then roll down to the event at 3pm.

I think it's just a matter of showing up but Richard made the good suggestion that maybe we should get together before hand and have lunch or something.

DBLIPA - Yes! We really want you to make it and bring as many RS6ers and any other Audi owners you persuade to come. Greg, Ben, and I would like to have large turnout of RS6.com members with all their uber Audi rides. Like Greg said, we are working on the details. The gathering is on the 18th of May (Sunday) 3PM at the Irvine Spectrum (see above). OUR goal is for us RS6(ers) to meet say at 12:30PM for a meet and greet lunch and for everyone to get acquainted. Greg is going to pick the restuarant (hint Greg!) and post it on THIS official thread by next Sunday (Mother's Day) with location and time (thanks Greg!) From here we will caravan as one to the event. Our goal is to have as many top-line S/RS Audis (S4, RS4, S6, RS6, S8, R8) and other big Audis (A6s, A8s, Q7s) show up to the event and have our corral there. So, every SoCal RS6er get the word out to your buddies, acquaintances, and strangers that have Audis to show up!

Ben, you gotta show up!

No need to register. We will show up as a group. Greg will post a pre-meeting area and time for RS6(ers) by next Sunday for a pre-GTG and lunch. Then as a group, we will caravan to the event. Just keep checking back here.

Hey there!! I'm channa from audizine, and I want to let you guys know something. The last Irvine meet was lacking in the "6" style of Audis. Only one showed up, it was an A6. That's it. I hope you guys can make it this time around. My cousin is brining his RS6 and I'm sure he'd like to meet other RS6 owners.

Anyway, I just joined this forum to mention that. Hope all you so cal RS6ers can make it out! Booyah!

Welcome:bye: ! As Greg said, we are planning a full tour de force of "Big" Audis including RS6s, S8s, S6s, RS4s, S4s, and hopefully more (Hopefully some S5s will show as well). I would love to see some previous generation S6 Avants as well. Check back here daily for updates. RS6.com will have a pre-meet and greet at 12:30 prior to the event in the same vicinity which will include lunch. Greg (aka DuckWing..) will post the location in the next couple of day.

Also, for those that would like to wash their "kids" prior to the GTG, below is the address to a Carwash Greg uses. They will hand wash your kids so you can protect their rims. Your "kids" will appreciate the TLC. I know some expect it!

15291 Culver Dr
Irvine, CA 92604

We want a large turnout of big Audis - so everyone spread the word to everyone you know, especially RS6ers.

Always ready and willing Drew!

Okay, since the audi meet is at the spectrum, there are actually a number of options within the mall itself but since the point is to get together for chatting and checking out each others' cars, why don't we go to Red Robin. Decent burger place but with a ncie varied menu for everybody and it's quite close to the eventual target destination. if everybody's okay with it, I'll post some details about where we should park and meet up.

Gang, Richard mentioned to me that maybe instead of noon, why don't we just meet for lunch at 1p instead? That'll give us two hours to eat, chat, and check out each others' cars before the larger audi meet at 3. What do you all think?

so, far I've got...

Richard, S42SKI, Double IPA, Ben, Hy Octane, and JCT2033. And me of course.... Anybody know how to get in touch with SoCal who rolled out with us for the Julian run? Also, what about gmbh6 and ben916?

Damn Ben916! Alright, too bad you're not able to make it out to join us, maybe next time.

As for those who are.... here's the address to type into your GPS/google maps/mapquest/etc for Red Robins:

83 Fortune Dr, Irvine, CA

And just to make things a bit easier, I have the below two satellite images and a bit of explanation. As Red Robins is actually within the Spectrum mall itself, you can't simply pull up and park in front. Instead, I recommend that we all park in the lot immediately in front of Barnes and Noble, marked with red arrows in the picture below.

It is Lot G behind Target. Greg can you map this?

Anyway, rs6(ers) will be close to the parking area anyway. We'll just follow the Audis to the site if need be. Plus, just got confirmation that a 2002 S6 Avant is coming (Sweet! )

DuckWingDuck

haven't been down to that far side of the spectrum in a while, but it's a giant open air mall, we shouldn't have any problems on Sunday. Lot G won't be difficult to identify.

Hi Channad, do you want the number or names? At this point, and it is fluid, we are looking at 10 so far. But, it is hard to predict at this point as more rsvps come in and those that will show up on the day of the event. DuckWing can give some numbers as well.

I am thinking about 10 so far. 15 would be very optimistic I think, unless we get shows we did not expect. Greg's numbers are probably better, but assume 7-10 hopefully.

Ironman was a fun movie. Audi's tie in is one of their best marketing ploys in decades. I only question the logic of allowing Rolls Royce since it is not a VAG product, but a rival product. They should have used the A8L W12 or a Bentley.

cool, well my cousin is very excited to meet other RS6 owners...I'm not sure if he has ever met anyone that owns an RS6 besides himself.

Ironman was awesome!!! I think having the rolls was a good call. Remember the R8 add at the super bowl? That's what I was reminded of when they were racing to the airport. When the Cobra gets smashed, I was like, hell yeah, he's not gonna smash the R8!!! A great movie, with some great Audis in it!

We look forward to meeting everyone, and hopefully this will be a start of many cross Audi activities between the groups. Just remember, we are large internationally, but regionally it does take some doing. But being in SoCal, we have good representation.

I'm sure that DWD will post details, but there were 6 RS6's and 1 S6 in our group. In addition there were a few RS4's, an S5, and several Avants. It was a real treat to see the RS6 gang out in force --- according to Ben, today's showing set a new U.S. record of RS6's gathered in one place (2700 bhp) :thumb: The downside was ambient temperature of >100 deg F :noshake:

Thank you! Richard for letting us know the event. Thank you, Greg for arranging the mini-meeting for the RS6ers, BTW nice rims. And it was really nice to meet all (well, most of) local RS6ers. It was absolutely incredible to see these many RS6 and S6 line up at a same time. I really enjoyed it.
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p> </o:p>
On the way home, I spotted a S55 doing about 60mph 5 car lanes ahead of me on the freeway. I caught up to him. He immediately speeded up to about 80, as he saw me from the rearview mirror. I downshifted to 3rd and starting to follow him for about ½ mile. He slowed down, pulled to my right side, rolled down the window, and gave me an OK signal. Sure!!! Right away I again pulled back to 3rd and just floored the gas to about ¾ and boom the beast just took off!!! He must not know what a RS6 was and he must think that I have an “A6, because he accelerates as if he was racing an “A6.” When I saw him closing in about 7-10 second later, the traffic started to slow us down and he got buried in it way behind me. I am pretty sure the S55 would soon catch up and pass me, if the traffic condition permits. But I am just glad to have a chance to run with it.

Thanks...it was a great GTG, and we are looking forward to the next one. Let Tina know if she could give us an earlier heads-up so we can get more RS6ers to come out and some to come from other places such as NorCal. We should do it closer to some kind of drink and food or have someone (sponsor) to bring the stuff. Stay in touch with me and DuckWing about the next event. Again, thanks.

Audi people are a special. Nice to see so many young enthusiasts committed to the brand with some very hot rides. That is what I like about AZ.
