That's exactly why I drive a quattro. I wanna hit full throttle without being scared to be punched out before you know it.

And this is why some BMW and motor magazines class Quattro a boring. :doh:
All cars perform equally well up to the point, it's at this point when Quattro comes into its own. You need a lot more skill to drive rwd quickly and a beep machine + swear box. :hihi:

This is true.
Also, the e39 brakes were never up to task. Gotta love the 8-piston RS stoppers (though they can pull which is a little disconcerting).
If I'm tackling a wet b-road or the Ring, I think I'd take an RS4 too. Just the right amount of power

RS4 would be surplus to requirements, all that's required in anything other than a hi-powered rwd chassis. I would pick a fwd setup for the wet, you really can't go wrong or get yourself into too much trouble with one of those.
Something like a nice wee 1.0L Polo. :D

i feel that not only does the rs4 feels more planted but it has aged better, and there is less of them about comapred to m5's.
