Audi RS4 paint correction (massive amounts of swirls and scratches) and Swissvax Treatment, this car was pretty bad, it took out 2 clay bars! Total 10 hours 2 in the crew, Thanks Dan for giving me a hand on this.

Car looked amazing afterwards and the customer was all smiles :thumb:

The original poster is the detailer, he did my RS4 about a year ago with Swissvax Concourso.

I expect this detail was probably in the $350+ range for how long it took and the materials used.

prices have actually gone up due to the level of work and the market pricing for the type of work done.

we start at exterior only at $350 and go up to $2000 per car (of course the later is less seen)

Our avg detail runs about $600-$800 per car.

Pffffft lol on the wax at nearly $600- and the price. Wow, do you use lube or just put it in dry?

Anyone who's reading this, get yourself a Porter Cable Dual Action polisher for about $110- some pads, claybar, microfiber towels and wash mit, cleaner polishes, the wax of your choice, do some research on Meguiars or Autopia. One afternoon and YES you can make your car look every bit as good for a mere fraction of the price. This guy's price may make you think that there's something special involved, some ancient secret that only the guru has the skills and experience to accomplish but there's nothing to it, it really is easy and far more gratifying if you take your time and do it yourself.

Anyone who spends 600 freaking dollars for wax ought to get their head examined. You can buy a $15- jar of P21S or whatever else, flush the remaining $564- down the toilet and get the same thing if you want. Or give it to a starving childrens fund or something for chrissakes....wow...!!!

Well first, anybody can spend their money they want ! ! !

Secondly, it is like everything else, from outisde it looks easy and like everybody can do it. But in reality, it is the opposite. And only experience can bring you to this level. I love to wash my car and spend hours doing so. But never to this level of details !!!

Pyiu found a market niche and a business opportunity. Good for him. I can only wish him to grow up his company in the futur.

Regards from Paris,
Frederic

You are quite wrong really. A porter cable polisher isnt going to do anything near what a rotary will do in the hands of a skilled detailer like Phil here. He uses paint thickness gauges and knows exactly how to attack a certain area of the car. Give a rotary polisher to someone without the skill to use it and watch them wreck their paint. It could take over an hour with a porter cable to get the same results you could get in 30 seconds with a rotary.

Heres the thread on Audiworld from back when Phil detailed my RS4, amazing work then too.

Because an 07-08 RS4's paint is so incredibly flawed that you need to take a rotary over the entire paint surface of our cars:jlol:

Sure they could be, people tend to use the rs4 as a daily driver so many people have racked up 30k+ miles. Why not do it right?

Mine's a daily driver as well. All you have to do is take care of your car to avoid getting gouged by people like this. There is no doubt in my mind that my car looks every bit as good as the car pictured above using a PC, some pads and polishing compounds. I agree that there are some instances where a PC can't get out the toughest of scratches, but only then would I go to a detailer.

and I apologize for poppin' off like I did but I'm getting pretty sick of people taking advantage of others ignorance by charging up the wazoo for something that's not at all complicated. We're talking about polishing cars, lets keep it in perspective. And $600- for freaking wax..!! C'mon man, that jar filled up with even the highest quality of product can't cost more than $20- tops.

I disagree but its your money and you can spend it however you want to. I just know that a rotary will do wonders compared to a PC.
