There are indications that a 5 cylinder TFSI engine is on the way to be used in the A5/S5.
The power output will be between 300-360 hp.
Based on the output it can be used in the A5 with low 300+ hp or in the S5 with higher up to 360 hp.
A while back there where rumours that say the 5 cylinder plannet for the TT-R(S) would also be used in other models of the Audi range.

Probably in the next gen S5 (B9?).

The next gen 3 series 335i (F30?) will run a 4 pot turbo with 300-400hp.

I think its unlikely for the B8 S5 seeing as its not been out very long and audi are having trouble fulfilling orders especially for US customers. They wont appreciate being told their V8 has now become somewhat less sonorous.

i'm sure that this engine will be used also in other models of Audi Range - not only in the TT-RS? Maybe it is also a possible Engine for the new S4? I don't know ;)

Doesn't make sense with the supposed supercharged/twin turbo 3.0 V6. I am sure Audi would use the V6 in the Longitudal engine applications, and as those cars would use a smoother engine.

hm - supposed - you say it right...but it's not sure - that it will be in the S4 ... maybe?!

But i believe that the 5 Cylinder will be also available for A4...

One thing is certain, Audi need a engine between the 265 hp 3.2 V6 FSI and the 354 hp 4.2 V8 FSI.
Im my case i prefer a inline 5 TFSI engine over a V6 Kompressor.

I dont believe that either 335i / S5 next gen will have a 4 pot engine

6 pot engine with forced induction - my prediction.
Of course, with improved hp/torque/co2 figures

@artur777...

Nobody's talking about 4 pots :)
We're talking about the new 5 Cylinder engine ;)

I didnt think so either...till I read it from the horses mouth in Car Magazine.

Personally im not a 4 pot fan turbocharged or otherwise.

i can see the 5cyl TFSI going in the A4 and A5 with 300 hp. in the US this would replace the aging and uninspiring 3.2. the 2.0 TFSI could be made to produce 225 hp or so very easily. this could still leave the S4 and S5 with either an updated V8 or a TT V6 with 360 hp and less weight.
