and somehow i still like the small BMW a bit more :vhmmm:

it's probably the rear that does it for me... on the audi it's just weird

I think I'd have to take the BMW too. I think the A3 Cabrio is more girly with it's more "hatch" style rear. I've seen the 1 series Cabrio on the road and it doesnt look as fruity as the Coupe. The Coupe looks sqaushed and awkward.

Anyway, it's a shame because apart from the rear the Audi looks great and it's interior is so much better!

Yup....the A3 looks weird as a convertible in contrast to the BMW wich clearly looks better. Audi should look better into the next A3 desing if it'll compete with BMW 1 series as a hatch, sedan and cabrio.

I don't like the LED's on the A3 Cabrio, they somehow make the car look "sad"...

But overall, it's still better looking than that BMW. I hate the 1 series look, no matter what form...

Don't forget that current A3 is on market since 2003, and then 1 series wasn't even roumored...

I like A3 Cab' just fine...

Agreed! The A3 is the benchmark of this class as it created it, and its current form has been around since 2003 with a new one still some time off. The 1-Series was a response to the A3 in the first place, and the 1-Series has never outsold the A3. Of course in the US, the sheep are flocking to the 1-Series as expected because of the badge.

I prefer the 3-door A3 to the 1-Series in every way. Especially in 2liter TDi Sport form with manual trans and fwd. 50mpg and 7.9secs to 60, 140mph. Lovely.

I just want the S3 to come here. That would be one small hot premium hatch to own. Let's hope the S3 arrives as the next generation now that BMW introduced the 1-Series Coupe. As usual the heads at Audi of America were caught napping on the job again.
