but it is really fast!way faster than a RS4 to 250 km/h I think...

But the RS4 is still the goodlooking one and o so nice...

I disagree:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cAyteLDmFD8
Imagine also that my stock car needs 8 secs from 220 to 250 km/h

I started both videos from 60km/h, thus taking the possible traction issue out of the equation and they both acceleration to 220km/h in an identical time. Whether the M3 will pull out a small gap to the 250km/h mark is hard to say but based on this I doubt it.

Leadfoot, how much more time have S5 with you..., or to be precised, when M3 is ''landing''...?

End of July, start of August is what the dealer has officially given me so far, though this date will firm up nearer the time. But to be honest this will only depend if the economical climate improves as things aren't looking good at the moment.

Leadfoot, what do you mean saying about not good economic climate?
Overall financial crisis?

Maybe you haven't noticed as yet but the US is heading for a economical slow down much bigger than in recent years, and anything which effects them effects us in Europe as well. House prices in the UK hit an all time high last year but already estate agents have seen a slow down approaching a trickle in house sales and prices is starting to reflect this. Nothing effect the economy like house prices and unless the main banks step in, things aren't looking good.

As like I said, depending on economical outlooks the M3 might be staying in it's comfy showroom.

Today I had the chance to run a 360 modena spider on autobahn from 140-280 km/h alot of times. The cars are equal.Only from 100 km/h and above on 3th gear modena is a half of a car length quicker. After 200 km/h no difference.I am very pleased from the result.

Great result, the F360 might not be the most up to date baby Ferrari, but it is still a Ferrari none the less. :thumb:

Near identical. Definitely less than a second in it.

Hawk,

Is this M3 standard, apart from the limiter remover, somehow I doubt it as 340hp sounds like too little to achieve a true 190mph top speed.

And 220-250 km/h in 6secs??Faster than 996 turbo and C 63 AMG?:lovl:

Agree with Leadfoot, i also think that this e46 isn't standard.
I think think this one has >380hp.

Unfamiliar with BMW tuning parts, what are we talking about to give the E46 M3 an increase of 40~50hp?

Though based on what KK265 provided in his video of a SMG M3 you have to doubt that even an extra 40hp would improve it's acceleration by this much.

I'm guessing what we have here is a SC M3 or possibly one with a turbo, though I can't hear the evidence of this in the video.

100-160kph in 5s. Autocar has it at nearer 7s (6.8s).

100-240kph in 20s. LOL. That's nearer 997 GT3 pace.

That's either a steep downhill and a strong tailwind or about 400hp.

This video (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=b0hVJgMQ2VA) should be enough proof that an E46 M3 isn't capable of such acceleration, even one with 400hp. When the new M3 with 420hp doesn't even stand a chance.

You're right Leadfoot.
Maybe this short movie, from a few post ago, of the e46 M3 is the M3 supercharged from The Getaway in Stockholm. That one has about 500HP.

GT3 0-200 in 13.9s is very fast!

I suspected a centrifugal supercharger by the way the acceleration ramped right up at the end of the gears in the earlier video.
