The surprise here is that only one car has a proper launch control system and yet it's the slowest to 60mph. Also it's incredible to think that the most powerful car here is the most economical and also the heaviest has the best brakes and is the fastest on the track.

I look forward to seeing the write up.

did they use the launch control.... to mutch speculation, but surprising to me, that that weaker m5 gets the best time 100-200kmh and we dont wanna know what happens above 200kmh.

Disapointing for me what audi makes..

From Gustav's post:
The scorepoints the BMW M5 Touring lost the most to the Audi RS6 Avant in categories Fuelconsumption / Envorviroment with 17 p (of 20) vs 14 for the M5.

Vs the Merces E63 AMG the M5 lost scores mostly on Luggage space / versatility where the AMG scored 20 (out of 20) and the M5 scored 14. The E63 probably got really gih there also thansk to it's 55 liter larger trunks space (2030 liters for the E63). The M5 also lost many points on visibility (18 vs 15 out of a 20 max) and also Warranty (13 vs 9 out of 20).

For everyday the Mercedes E63 AMG won the test. The fastest around the track was the Audi RS6. The BMW M5 Touring was a fascinating ride, a drivers machine. But in everyday driving the SMG auto gearboxfeature was (???)

In everyday driving, the SMG gearbox sucks and is a totally unnecessary pain in the rear. While fun for a while when you first get the car, the novelty wears off very quickly, and thereafter, it's just a pain. Has not a damn thing over a fine, fast, full synchro like the one in the AMG's or the DSGs. I would not buy another M5 until BMW puts a great auto gearbox w/ manual override/paddle shifters in it, like many of the other competitors.:nono: :vgrumpy:

I have tried the Maserati Quattroporte and I can understand why they are now offering an automatic option ;) Similar problem as the SMGIII.

Why? The SA-Test will be pro-BMW - as usual

Better way to take the both & drive them self...

- before and after mtm tuning :hihi:

Interesting, can't wait for more tests! But anyway, I know which one would be parked in my garage if I could choose. :addict:

nope, cant agree on that. The rs4 test was a great test as well, as was the r8 or even the previous rs4 b5, and dont forget the s5. Each car in his supertest got good points. I dont see any favouring brand.

no Comparing with autobild or other cheap german issus

I agree with Pit, SportAuto is very much so Pro-BMW.

In SA-Tests Audis rarely reach the factory data (acceleration, Vmax...)
- especially in tests against BMW.

In other newspapers Audis surpass the factory data ... like in this
AutoBild Test 0-200 in 14,3 ( =/= 14,9s ).

And here i've the SA Test...

Its reads like a slander. "Big words lightly," "Proof that the RS6 is not a
sports car", "relatively crude type," , "sports feelings do not want to [...]
arise" , "truck Feeling".... Etc. ...

Overall, strong language which the SA writer usually not use ....

In all not metric measurable criteria is the best RS6 only
"not recommended" - although it apparently IN THIS TEST on
measured values seem not to arrive ...

All attention Ms. Wassertheuer gives an outlook on their
mental constitution, in the short satement on the M5: "strong
V10-suction "," meaty high-rev Ten cylinders " , " pretty spaceship "
"even faster", "good bit easier," "superdirect Active Steering "..... etc. ...

Obviously, numbers, dates and facts since recently at the SA of
second interest ....

The best advertising ... What was that again? Ahhh .... Product Placement!

Greetings, Pit.
