Doesn't look like anything I'd be willing to try, don't appear to be Audi specialists or even German specialists.

I remember looking into Level Ten tranny upgrades when I had the B5 S4. Eventually gave up on it, but others that did it had mixed reviews. I believe one of them had major issues in fact. But it would be nice to see if anyone has tried on the RS6, and gave an in depth review.

I was told the valve body upgrade would improve the reliability of our transmission. The guys at Level 10 said the weakest link was the pressure distribution in the valve body. Their revalving is similar to the TCU chip upgrade which increases the shift RPM's. They also sell a "bulletproof" tranny, but I think it's like 4 grand.

Not a bad price..good to know incase mine blows. I wonder if the shift times are increased!!. Remeber doing B & M valve body work on my old 70 Challenger; the shifts were very harsh; wheel chiping during light acceleration. I don't think that's what you would want in an RS6 though..

If the $4000 includes all the labor charges than that's not bad considering the new transmission would cost $12,000 PLUS labor...

Mike, I think the $4G's is to upgrade your existing tranny, not sure about the cost for an entire level10 transmission.

Ive had it done, like 2 plus years ago. I love it, and said it everytime this subject comes up. worth it. Expencive but i got a extremly reliable car out of it. Dyno numbers say what ive been pushing since the put it in, and havent had one trouble. But it does take time for your trans computer to relearn that it can do these things now.

mi021le,
Did you do the valve body upgrade, or the full tranny upgrade?
Also, can you give us a ballpark on the $$damages$$?

off hand, the valve body, torque convertor, and clutch packs... were done. price was 2 years ago. maybe 4k. pulling the motor was 2 i think. but ill say it again, ive never had a wory about the trans not being able to handle the power.

26 psi??? wow. I think the OCT hits a max of 2200 mb (1.2 bar is what..17 psi?) very briefly before settling about 2000mb...

Yes, but with the OCT you get about 404AWHP and he has 460AWHP so there has to be an increase in boost.

down pipes, fuel pump, and a rebuilt trans gives you what the motor can do. and dahlback said the turbos are running at like 80%. i mean it goes. but u can truely drive it, and that makes everything in my book worth while. after that i had to upgrade the brakes. lol. ill say it again. worth every penny.

rs mad- ill see what i can do. ;)

So sad to start a new year with such crisis,, sad to say that my transmission is gone,,dealer told me so,, I'm thinking to go for either IPT or Levelten rebuild kit and valve body & torque converter. I just paid a lot for RNS-E, Hotchiks bars & KW v3 at same time, I didn't even got the KWs & sway bars yet, they still on the way, so could you please advice which one is doing a really good job in this with good fair price? Thanks

Go with ITP...my experience with Level Ten was not the best!

That sucks about your tranny going like that.. there were no warning signs??? Or did i miss that someplace. As for tranny work, from all i've read here and in other places ITP got the thumbs up.. alot of people in the know had bad things to say about Level 10. I won't name names but if you look around you'll find the info - with not much to go on i'd have to spend it with ITP based on that info.
Hope that helps..

actually it is still running,, but slipping on 1st and sometimes at the 2nd gear,, so I'm not going to wait till it die. It started 1 month and half back with a little sound coming from the gearbox at the 1st like a metal scratchs. Yesterday I gave it to the dealer for the 45K mileage service (oils and filters), I told them to check that sound also, then told me its gone and need to be replaced. Nothing wrong was noticed at all except that sound. But after taking the car from the dealer yesterday I found gearbox slipping toooo much and car have to go slowly on 1st and 2nd then its fine.

I went back to them again as I was not like this at all,, they checked the ECU/TCU & so many things,, but they told me that is gearbox almost gone and must be replaced as they don't fix TC or body valve. My warranty covers only 2000$ per part. So I have to pay the rest from my pocket. Dealer told me that as my car still in low mileage (45000 km) they can send a report to Audi germany and get 50% discount on new transmission. I told them okay, lets try that way and see. But I can wait all that time and also the solution will cost a lot (at least 5500$) and again its stock weak gearbox. So, I thought the best way now is to rebuild it again with aftermarket co. like ITP or levelten. still the cost is not that much high and will be a very stronge and reliable solution.
please let me know your thoughts? Is that right thing to do now at this situation? :(

IMHO I would go for the factory exchange transmission. Just hammer them on your out of pocket portion. I mean, really give it to them. The transmission and TC are known faults with this vehicle.

The problem with the aftermarket trans and your location. You will have to wait xxx amount of time for the transmission to be shipped to the USA and get rebuilt and sent back. Meanwhile your car sits on a lift at the dealer. (dealer will not like this) They loose money by your car sitting on one of thier lifts. Get the idea.

Good luck

Thanks DHall1 for your post ,, but my car is not on a lift right now, its still working fine so far ,, some slipping on the 1st & 2nd gear but everything else are okay , i just came in,, but i don't think that can servive for more than a week or 2. So, regarding that agency replacement gear with 50% discount as I told you still too much and not sure even if they will accept.

Actually I prefer to send only the TC & valve body to IPT for modification and get them back with a rebuild kit (including all necessary seals, gaskets, filters, shifting bands, friction clutches and reaction plates) and then will do the rebuild here at any good workshop. Then I can save both time and money. What do you think guys?

Yes Drew,, I can send mine and go for group buy. can you start contact them and let me know please?<SCRIPT type=text/javascript> vbmenu_register("postmenu_149441", true); </SCRIPT>

I'm headed to NY in the AM. I'll stop by IPT and run the group discount offer by them and keep you guys posted. Like you all already know, whenever I get and trans removed, it's going to IPT. I'll have a look around the shop and post my first impressions. I'm also sending my TCU to Mike @ Hoppen for the MTM chip tomorrow!:dig: I'll be back home in a week so I may consider pulling the eng/trans myself. So I should tell them 3 trans so far, right?

My tech tells me that you will get a new tranny. They arent replacing them with rebuilt ones. Audi have apparently updated the tranny with stronger TC and other bits as a result of all the failures so your replacement should be more reliable now.

Yes 3, try to get some photos for the workshop if u can, at least will take an idea. Your feedback also very needed as an expert now ;)

Btw, I'm planning to do that TCU flashing also by MTM and we need your feedback about that as well,, Is it possible to ask them if possible to flash the TCU by MTM and keep the ECU mapped by ABT? Thanks bro :)

I already spoke to them please e-mail me as I have a great deal for you guys as I have a business I have set it up as a whole sale acct.

also feel free to call me on my cell as I will give it to you when you email me.

Also Vangelis I would just send them the entire trans to them and have them do the build I am going to hook it up on shipping

Interesting ,, will check that with dealer here ,, but I still prefer the IPT solution and I believe will be much more powerfull that OEM anyway. Audi done that new transmission based on the stock specs, not the stage 1 or 2 moded cars. IPT make a TC based on ur requirements 550,600,800 BHP, I guess so.

snoopra, Could you please also check what is the max power/torque can be handled by the transmission after getting it done by them!?

Thanks

So this is the break down.Currently I have 2 people very interested and almost confirmed. Myself and Mahmoud (Vangelis) as of right now the price is $4900 for TQ Converter, Valve Body, seals, Clutch packs, cryo treated input shaft, splines are heat treated, seals and a ton of revision to the trans. I personally think it is worth it and believe it is more then fair to pay that in price. The more people I get the cheaper it gets...Normal price is

4650.00 for trans build
695.00 for TQ converter
100-180 for shipping

so about 5500 normally

Cheers,Drew

Thanks Drew for your efforts in this ,, but as I told you, I'm not going for the whole trans rebuild. I can't send it all the way to USA from UAE. So, I'm going to send only the TC & Valve Body for rebuild, and I will buy a rebuild kit to build it here by a professional workshop. I will manage to send the TC & Valve Body once you confirm the total cost of rebuild them plus a new trans rebuild kit (seals, Clutch packs, cryo treated input shaft, splines are heat treated,seals....etc) plus shipping fees for sending all that back to UAE. Kindly check and revert with the discounted price. Thanks again bro.
