Hi,

Just saw the following yellow RS6 limousine at a dealer in the near of the place I live at.

just look yourself:

LINK to the dealers page (http://www.car4you.at/ser_dea_hom.cfm?step=30&vehicleid=102347832&addressid=312069&language=de&dealernavigation=sup&pagingpos=0&origid=&country=at&menutype=ser_dea_hom&arrow_old=0&localsearch=0&sort1=VehicleSellingPrice&arrow_spc=0&sort2=VehicleMileage&defaultlist=102307629,102347832,102347824,10233110 9,102330556,102353535,102270723,102358208,10235435 4,102326294,102349398,102302737,101875541,10216008 9,102306846,102338640,102254333,102271498,10228016 7,102260326)

The most amazing about this car -> it has less than 8.900 km on it.
I know the former owner of the car and talked to him, why he sold the car with only so little km on it.
He told me, that the RS was his "Baby" and he didn't want to use it too much ... well ... and then he bought a new GT3 RS (orange / black) and his garage was too small ... so he had to sell it.

what a wonderfull car.

importing rs to the USA -> good question.
In my eyes it can't be that difficult as hundreds of others have been officially imported - but well ... they surely aren't 100% european specs.

for the 9.000 expensive kms -> well I don't know why he didn't drive it more, but these kms are real - you can believe me.
well ... if you have loads of money, it won't matter, I think.

just my thoughts

A yellow RS6? That would be ghastly and give clients quite the shock.

I do remember reading that you are allowed one and only one grey market car to be imported from a non-US country. I believe there still restrictions/issues with two-cycle vehicles, either m/c or passenger or light duty truck. It might be U.S. customs? or DOT or EPA guidelines...

or
Ohio? just information

http://www.epa.state.oh.us/dapc/echeck/other_programs/modifveh.html

or

http://www.epa.gov/otaq/imports/index.htm

ok, so if Boosted-Bora got a NEW 08 RS6 Avant in the U.S., that would be the shiznit! But with the dollar being weak against the Euro, chances are slim... Good luck

What about the Red one (arizona) on Ebay?

Er!!! That one and only one policy is no longer active...

http://www.epa.gov/otaq/imports/factmtoc.htm

"The EPA policy which permitted importers a one-time exemption for vehicles at least five years old has been eliminated. "

Seems like the EPA is cracking down on grey/gray market vehicles....

Exchange rate is working against you, too. Most folks are taking cars the other way.

GoFast - Nice line-up. Which one is your favourite?

Depends on what we're doing. Heavy snow, rain, traffic or people/stuff to carry: RS6 hands down favorite. Track time or summer frolic: CGT, with GT3RS a close second. Distance drive: 911 Turbo.

Really? I'm quite shocked about picking the TT as your distance driver..

That car:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=012&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=220227300401&rd=1

looks exactly like the one in discussed in this thread (post #45/46 and earlier):

http://www.rs6.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12167&page=3&highlight=glut

right down to the "Audi Sport North America" decals on the lower rear doors. I saved pictures of it on my home computer and it looks exactly the same. Not sure what ever became of the "scam" accusations, but maybe if the current seller would give us a bit more history...?

Spidercat...what "scams" were you eluding to? http://www.rs6.com/smilies/headkratz.gif Kinda got my attention and I'd be interested to know as I was the "original" owner of this Imola RS6 (hence YlwBeast)...I was the one who placed those "Audi Sport North America" decals on the car. Also did the same on my '04 S4 Avant and '07 RS4 (Phantom Black)
ImolaYellowRS6, are you really the current owner? Any reason why you are selling it?
I might be able to answer any questions that you may have...btw Champion Racing took shots of the car with their RS6 when they used to race them.

...btw, it is quite surprising that except for a few, a good number of people like the car in this color. Truly a color that one has to see in person to appreciate. For the record, this car always drew attention whenever I drove it!!
Truth is the US '03 RS6 was so indistinguishable that in a more common color (like silver) could almost get by unnoticed.

Spidercat...oops my bad! I did click on the link and see what you are talking about ($41k to $18K)...

sometimes it's good to go unnoticed but ya, that yellow is very distinctive!
