Most states require you to but a lot of the time people just ignore it and don't put the plate on the front. Most of the time the police wont bother you about it but sometimes they will go out and give a ticket to any car they see without one. I have seen them go to parking lots before and drive through and give every car in the lot without a front plate a ticket. Its around a $60 fine I believe.

Nah thats when you can get away with it is going into other states. They can't give you a ticket for it since your car isn't registered in their state and they can't enforce your states law on your car either.

Awsome looking car and I 'll say it again; if I didn't have a TT Porsche I would have a RS4!

Whose car is it? Not even the OP knows?

Great pics though. Looks awesome. Love the matte grille and deleted side reflectors. Must-do mod on all cool cars stateside. As for front plates, Audi's are about the only ones that look okay with one around here as there is a tailor made place for them on the bumper, though euro-style fits better as it's a much less square.

Its amazing how much you notice about cars when you look at other pics of them.. looking at this one compared to mine, i didnt even notice that mine had side reflectors on the rear bumper.. I guess thats just me though. i was so focused on test driving the car i prob just failed to notice the little details.

No those reflectors on the front and rear bumper are unique to the cars that came over to north america, stupid US DOT laws require them although I don't think anyone would notice if you got rid of them when you went to get the car inspected.

The US spec cars even get them on the front bumper, the 2 vents just past the fog light are smaller for it, can see it on this shot of my car.

US cars also don't have the "proper" RS4 steering wheel, so they have a Sport button on the dash, and they didn't have the option of the "proper" RS4 bucket seats either.

is that because the flat bottom steering wheel doesnt work with the "in car phone"?,, so they had to fit another steering wheel.. as for the seats i do prefer the look of thre bucket seats but i'm quite a big fella and i found they were a little too snug for me, esp when you hit the sport button.
I opted for the other ones.

No Audi would have had to test crash X amount of cars with the euro wheel to get the car certified yet again for the US market, or something like that.

yep

Nor do we get the option of sport suspension + or ceramic brakes. Also the 19" wheels are the only wheels we get.

As I said earlier, most gearheads get these painted body color asap. I know I always have done.

On Carreras and Mercs you it's a little trickier as they are connected to a bulb. In that instance I replaced mine with a smoked-clear plastic and it lit up orange at night only. You can do that or disconnect them.

RS4 steering wheel and seat situation over here was a fiasco. I'm sure everybody wanted the 19s anyway to fill those blistered arches so that's not a big deal. What did sports suspension option do? Lower, harder....?

Big benefit over here is no front plate even though CA law says we should they don't really care apart from meter maids:hihi:

That car looks amazing!!!!! It's too bad Audi had to add so much excessive weight to a car that could have been a masterpiece.

Both - 10mm lower IIRC. Still kept DRC.
