can any of you guys comment on them? do they really eliminate blind spots?

They are fitted to most Euro models on the drivers side only.

The outer 1/3 of the mirror curves forward to give a wider field of vision a standard flat or convex mirror can give you.
Could not guarantee a complete cure for blind spot (depends on your own periferal vision), but certainly helps reduce the blindspot area.

They sure do help a lot IMHO. Didnīt knew you guys in the US donīt have these.
Here in germany they are standart for both mirrors. But if you first look into these mirrors you have to get used to it :hihi: Kinda weird looking into such spherical glasses.

i think they are standard on both sides on most cars, at least i'd say any car above 15k euros has them as standrads... which is pretty much 75% of the cars.

They are great, they do not eliminate all the blind spots, but they reduce them by quite a lot. I can't remember if i had to get used to them, but what i do know is that i miss 'em on older cars!! I really got used to it, and feel something is missing on "regular" mirrors!

I have those on my car, switched from regular US mirrors to the EU version. You don't even have to look over your shoulder, the blind spots around my A4 is gone. It's still best to look, just in case, maybe some other car on 2 lanes away wanna take the same spot you want, and the mirrors will not cover up to 2 or more lanes on the side.

A4 (B6 and B7) is where i know it for sure cause i drove both of them lately. As far as i know you have to pay extra not to get the sperical mirrors here.

depends on what year your a3 is, but i know that all post 2002 a3s sold in europe have spherical mirrors on both sides.

i've owned:

1998 A3: spherical only on driver side
2003 A3: both sides
2007 A3: both sides

My A3 is 2003 (MY 2004) ... and i have only on drivers side ... i now went to the garage and checked it - and i do really have only on drivers side ;)

believe me - every other audi - also only on drivers side has this....

Can you post a picture of your A3 with the spherical mirror on passenger site?
