this was my tenth or so time with the DIY oil change on my RS6 this morning. It doesn't get easier. The placement of the oil filter on the Audi V8 and V6 is pathetic. And the lovely plastic shroud is a pain in the ... Was the same on A6 4.2 but at least I could get the oil filter out without lowering the torsion bar.

Please tell me Audi copied BMW on the oil filter location of the V10.

I agree. I just take it to the dealer because it can be such a pain for DIY. I just tell them to keep the car as long as they need. Before with the S4 it would be something I'd wait for, but now I just leave the car there and go to work.

I just did mine the other day and didnt lower the bar. It just takes a little finesse and I wanted to see if it could be done. I'll probably lower the bar next time.:mech:

What does the cost of the oil/filter cost if you DIY?
What does it cost for the stealer to do it?

My experience....

Dealer total = $178.22 (8qts @ $12.53, filter at $26.40, plus tax and other b.s.)
DIY total = $88.00 (8qts @ $7.93, filter at $18.81, plus tax) oil and filter purchased from dealership.
