AMS had big test in ''middle class'', Audi A4 win it, Passat comes second...

The Ford and Chrysler weren't really much in the same class (am I alone on this one?;) ) but that it beat the Merc & BMW is pretty sweet news. :cheers:

Audi really stepped up to the plate this time around with their latest B8. Very positive review from autoexpress....

Best brakes around, equally good as in the new C-class. It seems Audi stepped up the game nicely, 6 ft shorter than the bimmer.
How come the Passat 1.8TSI got better time for the 80-120km/h test: 13.1s against the 14.4s for the A4 1.8TFSI. Same result in the other acceleration test. The passat should be heavier ... it's a bigger car. Isn't it?
And what is a TSI engine?

In this case that is 1.8 Turbo FSI engine, actually, in all cases it is TFSI engine, exepct when that title is conected with some VW cars (Golf GT, Tiguan) than that is that ''special'' 1,4l turbo and supercharged engine, 170 hp...
..I think you now get it all ! :D
The Passat and A4 have the exact same engine.
That is correct..., diference is in engine layout, transversal-Passat, longitudal-Audi...

passat is rubbish, really not a car that could beat a 3 series. Mondeo is really a great car on the other hand. Can't understand how this obtained thos reluslts...

it's no surprise for me that the Audi A4 wins, it's just the best-selling car of Audi and the B8 will sell even better than other A4's(B6,B7)...

I'm also thinking hard to understand why. A4 is 1410kg and Passat is 1417kg. Also 0-100km/h is faster in Passat :confused:

It's actually quite a good car! I just wouldnt have rated it at 2nd place, but I do respect the car.

Correct, personally a placing of fifth is about as high as it deserves among such competition.
