Very good times, but I expected this car to be a rocket.. and sure it is!

But as bastordd wrote, it's the newest in it's class.

above all faster than new Audi RS6......

It may be quicker on he quoted figures of the RS6 but the reality is that the RS6 will be in a totally different league. The only similarity will be the basic size as they are both estates. :hihi:

There is just one problem(specially for me) new M3 Coupe with M-DKG(M-DCT) will be as fast as this C63... That means that both C63 and M3 are in real life(autobahn or moderately demanding country road) faster then R8 or RS6 Avant.

Only on track like Hockenheim(short one, flat surface) R8 will be(much) faster then C63 or M3. Other problem is that M3 Coupe achived virtually the same time on Oschersleben track as R8.
For me(R8 on order) this fact are pretty hard to cope with...

And think about M3 CSL - it will be much faster than M3

How could that be?
Look:

C63T 1850kg and 514hp +RWD
RS6 Avant 2100kg and 580hp + Quattro

I am not that sure, that much heavier car with just 15% more hp and AWD will be faster.

To my mind, new C63 Saloon is possible of posting 14 sec times
And new M3 DCT will be very near at 14-14.5 sec for 200.

Not that easy for Audi to win this battle.
First tests will tell us the truth anyway

I have it from a pretty good source that the RS6 IS putting out 610ps and it's torque figures are also more than is quoted, the gearbox is capable of 800Nm I believe. ;)

The C63 doesn't have 514ps, it's more than quoted but it's closer to 480ps.

So the Merc weighs 1850kgs vs 2100Kgs for the RS6 that means the Merc is 88% of the weight that the RS6 is and powerwise C63 480ps vs RS6 610ps means is only got 78% of the power.

This shows that it hasn't the same amount of power pushing the same amount of weight, then lets talk about torque, the RS6 has more, over a wider rev range and carries this figure much higher up the revs. Then lets talk gearboxes, the Merc has 7 gears instead of the RS6's 6 gears but the RS6 shifts quicker and locks up sooner.

I am not saying that the Merc won't put up a good fight but after 100mph I reckon you will see the RS6 pull steadily away and by 155mph mark it should be a good 6~8 car lengths in front.

KersoF1,

Come on mate,

Imagine stepping out of your front door and both cars are parked in your drive, an M3 MCT and the R8, you know the Beemer is the quicker but then you look at the Audi and you know there is only one car to be seen in.

Not everything is about speed.:brag:

In any case, I wouldn't want that DSG gearbox anyway in the M3. If I ever buy an M3 I want a proper stick and clutch even if the other one is faster as well as a technical wonder!

As for the Merc v RS6 it will be a close call indeed. Seriously though, the C63 is a fascinating kit but still suffers badly from yellowlightitis in anything but stone dry conditions. All that power just goes up into the air ...
