Guys, it was impossible that a car of 1800kg with 457HP to do 0-62 in 4.5s, so to be clear the real C63AMG acceleration times are here in the Autobild test of C63AMG vs M3 E92...look at the times and you will see how "fast" is C63 and compare to RS4 REAL TIMES made by AMS Germany in 2005...so NEVER EVER TRUST A CAR UNTIL YOU TEST IT!RS4 still is the best in his class and it isn't even the same generation to the new C63AMG and M3 E92, the future RS4 B8 will be, so who's the best sports car automaker?:D AUDI!!!

All of those three cars are good of course and in there own way in some points the best. Which is the best? That's more a matter of taste and what you want.
Want a hole lot of driving-fun, buy the M3
Want to go safe and still fast with some less fun, buy the RS4
Don't care about a lot of fun but still want to go fast in style, buy the Merc.

The best and most fun to drive streetlegal super/sports car? Still the McLaren F1

Well, you're being very subjective here, where as XtremeDriving is coming with objective fact's (could we by the way see a source XtremeDriving?).

I don't think the choice between M3, C63 and RS4 should be made by which car is the fastest in a straight line. This is just a parameter.

I for example (as a lot others from this forum) would say that a RS4 is more fun than an M3 - it's just in another way.

So in the end it really comes down to your choise of car-maker. Each of these cars represent each of these car-makers values, so most people here would say Audi.

I don't know what shit you are reading, but:

1) C63 is the fastest
2) then M3
3) the last is RS4 B7

And don't be too pushy AudiSuperDriver with your facts, though you are a good guy

I always regard the 60-100mph time as a better indicator, as it takes out the launch issue.

This week's Autocar figured the C63 at 5.3s from 60-100mph (97-160km/h). This is similar to the 5.0s posted by the original 4.2V8 TVR Cerbera, which had a PWR of well over 300bhp/ton. It's obvious that the engine in the C63 is really supposed to be a 500bhp engine. Maybe the 'detuning' isn't quite doing its job.

Car and Driver figured it at 3.9s 0-60mph and 9.2s 0-100mph:

From what I been hearing with regards to future RS models the same is true of them too, the RS6 has officially 580ps but the real figure is over 600ps, I agree that's less of a difference than is being suggested for either the GTR or C63 but it does show that manufacturers are taking your quoted figures seriously and don't want them to be under.

0-100km/h - 4,7s
0-200km/h - 14,9s

Faster than any RS4 tested. (as far as the 0-200km/h time is concerned as the 0-100km/h is meaningless but even there the results are almost the same )

The C63 has exactly the same engine as the CLK63. It actually makes close to 500hp. Mercedes gives a low number for marketing purposes.

Guys, make no mistake - the C63 AMG is NO slow car whatsoever.
Its damn fast. But why compare what is now a 3 year old RS4 to the C63? Yes they're in the same market segment, but if you ask me, the RS4 has done incredibly well to be KING in this market segment until the launch of the C63. Even then some consider the RS4 to be the most overall complete package. It may be slightly slower than the C63 in straight line acceleration terms, but as an overall package, the RS4 is still right up there with the best of them.

If it was my choice, RS4 anyday. The C63 may be quick in a straight line, but thats about it. Its still got a slushbox (like every other Merc), and well that just makes it another "old man's car" in my mind. Throw in a couple of twisties and watch the RS4 say good bye to the C63.

I just cannot help but look at the C63 as being just another fast Mercedes with more luxury than sportiness to it.
