A true mini R8, that is something I could buy into.

I forgot the link...

Don't forget it's just Larson's idea how it should look...

Editor's note: Attached artist renderings are purely speculative for illustrative purposes and not based on any specific or factual knowledge of the vehicles mentioned above.

So would this then replace the TT...?

It would make the Cayman obsolete the same second it was released, if it looked like above.

Yes i hope so, it will be a twin to the new 2012 Cayman if rumours are true only with it's own mid engines and Quattro, everything from 1.8TFSI upwards under the V8 engine, R4, R5, VR5, VR6 or Audi V6.
The question is will it get/have transverse or longitudinal engine layout.
Futher if you take a look to the Audi rollout sheet it also look like it.
TT-RS 2009 (most RS models come two year for the end of a model life circle)
The R4 is planed for 2011 on that sheet.
But they talk about a 2012 A4 facelift ad the end of the sheet, nothing about a TT facelift or TT3.

The idea is not new within Audi: Audi Spider Quattro.

Id considered a Cayman S before I decided on an RS5, but i think there are alot of people who will always and forever buy porsche above anything else - and not without reason

The R4 looks very sexy indeed, much more aggressive then the TT.

I can guarantee; the future of the "R4" isn't decided yet!

It's just waaay to early to say if this car will be made. In my eyes it all depends on the relations between Audi and Porsche. Because a car like this would undoubtly take sales from Porsche.

We'll just have to wait to 2010++ to see if this car will be made.

i dont think porsche has something to say there that the car has been build. if anyone would buy a porsche, hes going to buy a porsche. audi dont steal sales from porsche. it depends on audi if they wanna build such a car.

I have had a couple of Boxsters over the years and if I was still after another Porsche the Cayman S would be the only choice I would pick, even over the 997. But after having Audis and more main stream rivals I couldn't go back to the Porsche without another daily drive, it's the cabin noise that the problem, anything more than 30mins gives me a headache and I couldn't go back to that.

Call me old if you like.

First off I wouldn't go off this release sheet... You have to remember what the source was.... It's all speculation! Second, don't expect anything bigger than the Boxster and Cayman. Yes, Porsche does care about overlap. There is nothing official yet stating that the R4 even exist and if it did... it's still pretty far away from being approved for production!

I hope it becomes reality though ;)

The chances of both existing together are pretty slim!

Audi dropped the Spider Quattro in favor of the TT, in my eyes a big mistake.

I know this is a PS and all, but i don't quite like it...The front looks like a ugly version if this http://www.tuningnews.net/news/071008/mitsubishi_lancer_evolution_x_group_n.jpg

Either way, i would love to see the R4 coming in to production :burnout:

I don't like to see the inversion of the single frame...
For the rest the car is very hot :thumb:
