New Evidence Confirms Audi TT Diesel

It has been rumoured Audi have been working on a diesel engined version of the TT coupe, and now for the first time we have photographic evidence to confirm these rumours are true. Likely to be badged as the Audi TT TDi, this test car was caught in northern Sweden and fortunately our spy was able to get a shot of the interior complete with a warning sticker saying Achtung diesel-Fzg (Attention diesel version) .

The TT TDi will use Volkswagen's 168bhp 2.0-litre turbodiesel which we have already seen in the Audi A4 and VW Tiguan, we should see it launched sometime in 2008.

I don't like the suggested name 'TT TDi', I reckon just TTD would be far better.

When this TT TDI ''hit the stores'', more than 50% of sold TTs in Europe will be TDI.

hmmm i think thats crap. audi should wait for release the 2.0 TDi with 204 hp. because TT is a sportscar and i think the 204hp version would be perfect. or 3.0 TDI. i think the 170hp version good for A3 but to weakly for TT. just for princip between compact and sportwagen.

I agree with this. And I think that's what will happen if Audi launch the TT with a TDI engine. That 204 hp engine should probably be a lot of fun in a TT... :ttaddict:

The horsepower is no official statement, so the chance that this TDI is going to have more horsepower is very high... we will see

Would be nice to see that diesel pumping some 200 healthy horse to all fours.

I would reckon the chances of the TT DIESEL having 200hp is very high indeed as it's main rival already has a 200hp Coupe on sale in the form of the BMW 123d Coupe.;)

I've seen a white diesel(I could tell because of the exhaust) TT once in Düsseldorf with an Ingolstadt license-plate
