I'm considering buying 19s from overseas for my December baby (US-bound RS6). Has anybody driven the RS6 with both (at different times, of course) that would care to expound on the matter?

I have. Both had the sports suspension. I can't really say there's that much difference although it's very difficult to say since on ride was in Germany on Autobahn and the other in Sweden (all types of roads).

The RS6 (misano red Avant on the main page) in Sweden has a firm ride, but I like that. It's not too firm, not beyond.
But on the other hand most american cars are very soft, so your reference may be different.

My personal opinion - if you like the 19" over the 18" because of the looks don't hesitate.

I should think there might be a discount for a group buy of wheels, RS 6 floor mats, and other such niceties that A of A didn't manage to include for us!

Let us know your timetable.

They're not cheap, however. Anyone know of other sources?

Hi!

www.performancealloys.com have replicas of the RS6 5-spoke wheels in 17", 18" and 19" (8" and 9") I got a quote of around $2700 with 255/35-19 Conti Sport Contact II.
