I use 245/50/18 (max 250kmh) on the A8. That is on a 8,5 inch wide rim. Works great, but have been thinking about to change over to "19's

edit: they're Continental Winter Contact TS810 Sport XL

Dear nyc123,

as OE approved Wintertires you can get:

265/35 VR 20 W240 PIRELLI SOTTOZERO 99V XL on 8x19"

or

235/45 VR 19 DUNLOP WINTER-SPORT-3D 99V XL on 9x20"

PS: no 18" (or even smaller) Wheel Combo!

Dear AndyBG,

the Continental ContiWinterContact 810 Sport is used as OE on the S6 with 255/40 R18 99V XL. A well balanced Tire.
