Call me odd but I can't get all fuzzy when discussing American cars. I don't doubt the ability or the performance but their looks and cheapness I just can't understand. Especially that awful Viper thing.

Though this is a little better than that.

Well, an Elise is pretty simple too on the inside. You have to think of the Viper as that crazy ride at Alton Towers. You will be too busy screaming on top of your lungs to notice the cheapeness of the suspended cart.

I was waiting for some sort of come back but that was more than I hoped for!

Thanks for the laugh, Benman!

Ben,

:burnout: Few cars can cover the first 100 yards quicker than a TVR Tuscan not even your mighty American stuff. :incar: :dig:

Though the next 100 yards you will hammer us as by then the TVR will have broke down. :snow:  :mech:

Easy there Leadie, I would never claim any American "stuff" is better than anything else. For God's sake, look at the AMC Pacer or the '73 Pinto. Yak!!! Kind of embarrassing some of the steamy piles that detroit puts out...

Leadie and I joke around all the time, we don't take it personal. ;) :D

I just hate the interiors and the ride quality of the Vettes. If they improved those two areas, the car would really shine!

And all joking aside, it sucked that TVR went BK. I'm suprised that spoiled rich Russian kid couldn't save it.:vhmmm:

The Brits stopped buying them, despite the quality improving markedly.

The Brits stopped buying them, despite the quality improving markedly.

The price increased markedly and times changed. When the 4.2V8 Cerbera came out, it cost under £40k, it did 60mph in sub-4s, 100mph in sub-9s and 150mph in sub-20s, before topping out at 190mph. For less than the price of an E36 M3, you got a car that would annihilate anything this side of an XJ220 or a McLaren F1.

The newer cars were more expensive and the competition had improved.
