I received a wonderful birthday present!

A Driver Experience, on track with expert tuition. The problem is I have to choose between :

Ferrari 360

Porsche 911 Turbo

Which would you choose?

Which 911 Turbo?

The pictures show a 996, so I assume that's what it will be...

I would go for the Ferrari.

Definetly the Ferrari. The 996 Turbo is nothing special. Hugely capable, but more of a GT then a sports car. Ferrari without a doubt.

P.S. I drove both.

I've done the 360 thing and I just wouldn't mate, it's nothing special at all. I take it you are talking about Silverstone?

I would personally recommend doing a Catherham driving day with a bit of rallying add into the mix, should be about the same money but you will have a lot more fun espically as the Catherhams don't have ESP which is something the instructors will not allow to be turned off in the Ferrari.

I have done both and they are great fun, especially the rallying as if you are pretty handy you can really get the instructor going.:hahahehe:

I don't doubt that the Porsche would be faster... The Ferrari is more of an event though. It's like a one night stand, would you do it with a crazy Hungarian stripper full of coke and silicone or that cute girl from a nice family that lives next door?

The second one...

But, 360 Vs. the 996 Turbo... I'd take the Ferrari...

Of the 2 choices for high-performance sports cars, I'd take the Ferrari for the test drive.

Clive,
I voted for the Porsche 911 turbo. I could also say, just flip a coin to choose.
Problem for me is I've never driven anything so magnificent anywhere, anytime.
I chose the 911 because it is a turbo. I have a soft spot in my heart for turbo cars.

I always wanted a Buick GNX- but was ONLY lucky enough to get a Buick Grand
National, which is by the way a turbo charged V6. My father helped my buy it in
1990, when it was 3 yrs old and had just 101 miles on the odometer. Well, now
nearly 18 yrs in my life...my 1987 Buick GN has only 17,500 miles and sports a
real Stewart Warner full anolog authentic GNX dash.

Last summer I drove an Audi RS6, and it changed me. I no longer only appreciate
American muscle cars... but now long for the AUDI quattro advantage. It was only
a five mile test drive of a car I could afford, but it sure was fun. The salesman kept
egging me on to go faster. With a $60,000 price tag for a 10k mile used car, I was
absolutely going to be reserved driving it on a public road near Orlando Florida.

So, now you and everyone else knows why I voted for the turbo dream ride.
Never having driven over 100 mph, I would surely be thrilled to get a car to
go flat out in at ANY race track. ANY car, anywhere. BE SURE to Have a Happy
Birthday and enjoy whichever you decide to drive.

GNX Jerry

The Rarri, it's more exotic in some ways and the sound that v8 makes is magnificent! :)

The nation doesn't matter, I kinda don't prefer coke & silicone... :w:

Don't get me wrong, the noise from the Ferrari V8 is pure music, but compared to the experience and pure pleasure you will get from either the rally car or the Caterham I know that it will be a mush more enjoyable day.

But if you heart is set on either the 997turbo or 360 then I would agree and go for the Ferrari, but trust me you will be making the wrong decision.

Well, obviously the most fun would be a race car. I am thinking of doing the F1 experience thingy with AGS in France someday.
