RS6 and Towing

Will the RS6 come with a towing option?

Anyword whether this will come to the states? Both RS6 and Towing if available?

I doubt it.

RS4 and RS6 were not allowed to tow anything. it is too much effort and too much heat for such cars. The RS2 had an option for towing but the power was decreased from 315 to 230hp in order to maintain reliability.

Kiwi RS6 had a specially made tow hitch for his boat, if I remember correctly. Definitely not factory, though. See post #s 103 & 104 of "How Many Beasts Are On The Board?"

this was a very useful feature of this car, (the trailer hitch wiring was detected by the motronic and reduced the map) and one which i used to provide the functions of a valet switch...

You need to be shot for putting a trailer hitch on a RS6. Buy 4x4 or something for the job.

It's a no no in my book.

I can appreciate the practicality of it but ... it does just seem wrong to me.

I thought towing with wagons is quite common in Europe. I was hoping to get rid of the Cayenne and replace with the Avant but would need the ability to occasionally tow another vehicle.
