This car have the Passat R36 engine under the bonnet not the common 3.6 VR6.

True, the Q7 hybrid does have the R36 intake. But I don't think it needs the extra 20 hp from the R36. Does it even make 300 gas hp? I guess the extra 20 hp can be made into 0 extra hp but more efficiency. It would be nice for Audi to put valvelift on this engnie, if possible. But it probably isn't. Overall the Q7 hybrid appears pretty interesting, but it isn't 100% complete yet.

Audi's Direct Injection V6 is a diffferent Engine family to the R36 one. It seems strange the group has 2 but apparently it's more than complicated to put the Longditudinal engine in the tansverse engine bay and vice versa.

VW and Audi though would swap engines when eachother when their bay directions change. Touareg uses Audi Engines and TT/A3 use the VW V6.
