I hope the interior will be better then a Passat or a plastic coffin. I had a 2.4 loaner and it was atrocious.

I had a 4.2 while my A8 was in for service and thats one great car, the interior is great, mine had DAB digital radio and everything. Nice trim and finish, S-Line package seats were great!

Well, the 4.2 is much higher spec. I actually prefer Passat interior to the A6.

The new Passat does have a lovely interior and looks really well in light tan leather with wood, something that I generally don't like. But I wouldn't prefer it to the A6, it's quality is superior and so is it's design.

Only difference between an S6 even and the 2.4 is the insert treatment and the instruments.
I love the A6 interior and it's functionality is sensational. I guess if you are used to steel Dashboards as Lada and friends offer it wouldn't be so nice.

The A6 interior is always said to be a cut above the rivals, by any magazine, tv programme that reviews the car.
I'd much rather have the A6 interior than the RS4 interior from your car... :hihi:

Leather is the worst, really, really crummy. The steering wheel feels like it's plastic instead of leather.

Which car are you talking about here? Surely not an Audi as there leather is in general of a higher grade than BMW or Mercedes offer, well in the S models at least and their steering wheels are in my opinion the best.

Normally I have agreed RussianM3_dude points in many ways. But now I just can't. A6 interior is one of the best I have ever seen. Quality is top end. Of course design depends of the viewer.

Leather is not the same. Mine was very "grainy". The cheapest one basically. And the steering wheel leather was just horrible, felt like soft plastic.
I didn't say the assembly quality was bad. It was very good. Just that it was very plasticky and some materials were a bit rubbish AND that it looked like a plastic coffin.

The basic leather is called 'cricket' and M3_dude is correct that this leather does look cheap but I haven't seen one ordered in this leather so it must be the most basic A6 ever seen.

Go take a photo of it Russian. Mrs' Allroad is the basic leather spec and the feel of it is fine. It's got a more pronounced pattern which maybe looks different but it's no just different, feel is fine.
Unless it's leatherette which is vynil/leather match but that would be obvious, I hadn't seen it offered on A6 before.
Either way the functionality of the interior is unmatched and the plastics in the car are way better than the Rubbish BMW put in the 5 and certainly that in the Passat - especially that horrendous Surround of the centre console VW used - looks like Vietnamese lackered furniture.

This was little bit to much... Passat isn't that bad inside, not bad at all IMHO.

I agree on the basic design except the plastic quality - but only in comparison to an Audi - and particularly that odd plastic cover around the centre console which is just unnecessarily unattractive.
Passat B6 is a pretty good thing apart from that minor distraction. But comparing the interior to an A6 is not a good thing.
