Hi all!

How can I decode VIN of my RS6 and get information about optional features in my RS6.
I only know that my RS have brake disks from RS6 Plus.
How can I get service information of my RS6?

Ask your local Audi centre to check on the vehicles history, they can find out lots about the car and indeed its history from the VIN via their online connection...:thumb:

I asked them but they said that they can't print this history for me.
Is it so?

Not sure really, but having said that I haven't asked for a print out before, they will tell you the info though I am certain.....:thumb:

This is the table generated by my Bentley Repair Manual VIN "decoder". There's not much information regarding options as I believe the VIN is generated by VAG but quattro GmbH does the "extras". Only thing of interest here was knowning that I have rear side airbags (consideration if I ever take my young daughter).

At least in the US, the stealership can access a web application to generate service summaries based upon your VIN. The prior owner to me did this only months before my purchase, which provided a nice history of the car.

I think about the only way you will have your true questions answered is to contact quattro directly for their "list" of mods. I also have mine (in German), which is cool. Good luck!

If its just de-code your option codes your Audi parts centre should be able to do this (in their own language ! It is sourced from the FI function on the parts catalogue from ETKA) If their parts catalog is in their own language then the breakdown of codes should be in their own language. From memory the Front brake option code starts 1L_ (1LS, 1LX etc):thumb:

Just a correction to intended_accel list for vin decoding.

position 2 & 3 = A U (just stands for Audi, there is as yet no quattro GMBH code here. Mosts Audi start with WAU..... , the exception being TTs they start TRU.... because they are manufactured in Gyor, Hungary)

Positions 4,5 & 6 are generally only zzz filler codes in europe.

Position 7 & 8 , 4B is the model designation for A6 (99-2004) not just RS6.
A pucka 1.8 A6 would still have 4B here.

the vin will tell you nothing.

you need the option codes which are on the sticker inside your boot and also your service manual. they are not in any particular language, and can be easily deciphered.

Yeah, shame the sticker only contains about 40 of the approx 120 option codes thats available INDIRECTLY from the chassis number (go see a friendly dealer and he'll print this off for you.)

But when he wants the history it is really in French, and most dealer don't like to print them.
