Manual. :)

Manual as most of my driving would be done on the road, but if I did do a lot of track work I wouldn't even consider the manual as that open gate is a death-trap.

I voted manual too, but Ti-Mikes latest report on his expiriance with R-tronic has moved me closer to auto' g'box then I was before...

Manual without a doubt.

UK sales are 60:40 in favour of the manual...

in think R-Tronic is faster than the manual in Sport mode and the other thing is better handlling because of the flappy paddles behind the steering wheel, so i choose the R-Tronic for R8 and also makes sense for such a supercar an R-Tronic. And i think it let's the driver catch the perfect shifts while his both hands are on steering wheel, that's a professional driver style:) But also i would prefere in future R8 V10 to be DSG in 7 speeds (like the one on Veyron but much unexpensive).

They say the R-Tronic is more advanced then a DSG. :vhmmm:

This statement sounds like marketing based on the fat that the R8 isn't getting DSG any time soon.

R-tronic is a manual gear box with a hydro operatated clutch, so instead that you press a clutch the automatic is doing it......DSG is compelt different system.

I did not have the chance to drive Manual R8... so I cannot compare... but the Rtronic isn't that bad at least on track... it takes a little time getting used to it...

In any case better driving an R8 with Rtronic than no R8 at all!!!

R-tronic! Since it isnt an automatic slush-box, I could definately live with a F1-style hydraulic gearbox, after all 95% of all Ferrari-owners seems to manage well with that system... but if it was just a 'souped up' automatic gear box I would have chosen the manual, big time..

R-Tronic.

I shift so much on my 600RR that when I hop in a car, I'm now far too lazy to shift myself.
