View Full Version : A5 too similar to S5

How do you guys feel about the fact that the A5 is so similar in looks to the S5? I would say this is not Audi specific but for all manufacturers.
It kind of annoys me that I pay a lot of money for the S5 and only a selected few can really see the difference between a A5 and S5. And I guess the difference is even smaller between a A5 S-Line and S5.

Sure, it's nice with a sleeper, but well ... I want people to see its something more than an ordinary A5.

I think the differences between the A5 and S5 are absolutely spot on. Don't think i have seen an A5 S-Line.

Im happy my S5 looks a lot more aggresive and edgey than an A5

No probs here

I agree with you and your S5 looks beautiful. However, I think the S-Line is a little too similar to the S5, and infact I prefer the rear diffuser of the S-Line! The same is applied to the new S4, see my post here:

also here's comparison shots of the S5 and S-Line:

Rear (both have plastic diffusers, I prefer S-Line!)

Externally the differences between the S-Line and a true S5 are the grill, the mirrors, alloys and the quad pipes, but you will always get someone who knows little about cars not being able to tell the two apart. At the end of the day it's not these people you will be trying to impress and in any case I always say, the ones that need to know, KNOW.

I doubt anyone will be complaining like this when the RS5 comes along.;)

That's true I guess. There will probably be some people thinking the Msport 335i is the new M3 lol. Also add the diffuser to the list of differences between S-Line and S5.

Oh yeah +1 about the RS5, I just wish we could see more prototypes soon. It's funny, I got so annoyed seeing the same old protos of the E92 M3 with same camo on, but I wish we could see more protos of the RS5 soon!

That's the only other two shots there are. I quite like the wheels and the interior is nice too !

I like that the S5 is a sleeper, if my goal is to want everybody to see how much money I have, I bye a Porsche . You get a nice Porsche for the same money as the S5.

I dont think I'd ever purchase a car so that people could see how much money I have...

Just thought I'd post this pic to show that the differences between A5 (without S-line) and S5 are actually quite noticeable ;)

The most annoying thing about the S Line is we can't get it the UK. I love those sill extensions, but I've had to order an ordinary sport model.

The option is coming but is at least a year away.
