4500 RPM Launch 76 Degrees.

R/T ... .095
60' ... 1.909
330 ... 5.605
1/8 ... 8.578
MPH ... 83.08
1000 ... 11.104
1/4 ... 13.20
MPH ... 104.27

The car has 14k Miles had a 1/2 Tank of 93 Octane and weighed 4127 with me in the car (230LBS). Oil temp was right about 220 Degrees. In comparision there was an E63 at the track that ran 13.60's the whole time, an M5 which had a best run of 12.80's and my car stayed around 13.20's the whole time. Hopefully next time i can get her in the 12's.

AltitudeA642,

Nice times, how did the clutch bear up?

How are you getting on with the K&N filter, any issues? Can you hear a difference with it ?

Low octane fuel, why not use 99 ?

Low octane fuel, why not use 99 ?

Andy,

USA Fuel is RON or RdON which is Road Octane Number, this is the same as our RON+MON/2.

USA Fuel is about 4-5 units lower than ours so their 93 RON is the same as our 98 RON.

Our RON is Research Octane Number, and MON is Motor Octane Number.

I think that UN should rule out Imperial systems and force no longer evolving countries to Metric system, and right-side-drive... ;)

Try again removing the KN filter and putting the OEM:

I really like the K&N Filter the throttle feels a little more responsive and the sound pretty much stays the same.

Are these good times for a US Spec RS4? The clutch was fine.

I would expect faster trap speeds form 420hp but my bet is that this will be about the norm for US spec cars. I assume you did not post altitude corrected times? Anyway, thanks for getting to the track and sharing your times with us. Remember to post your slips on Dragtimes.com

What did the E63 and M5 trap at?

BTW, I think 13.2 is a nice et. and I'll be surprised if I can beat it when I finally get to the track.

AuditudeA642 - Do you have the latest version of vag-com? If so a way to practice your launch is by using the built-in acceleration tests on a straight stretch of road.

Here is the link: http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/tour/m-blocks.html

I am of the opinion that the RS4 B7 should run ~12.9@105

93 octanes? We can't even buy that kind of rubbish here in Sweden ...better fuel atleast 98 should bring you down to high 12!!

Buyalemon - Please read the entire thread before posting how good your fuel is in your country.

American 93 is European 98.

US fuel is still slightly less than Europe, it's true figure is nearer 97octane than 98 and as most of the fuel companies in Europe offer 99octane now our fuel does make a difference, if only slightly.
