Hello by the way......

DMS reckon that 700+bhp will be possible....it's got yo be done.

What do you guys reckon the 0-100mph times will be? (based on 700bhp)

What was the old model RS6 0-100 time?

bhp doesn't give you 0-100mph times, torque does and this new engine is a monster....

Good choice! :addict:

The 0-100 km/h time will be quick, very quick indeed with that much power, torque and Quatto!

my best time 0-100mph 7.3sec. with 2003 model and with little over 700hp.

IS it a joke? My Ford Mondeo is fuster :lovl:
May be 5,3?

He said 100mph which means it is 160km/h, so 7.3 is pretty awesome.

Read again dude. 0-100 MPH in 7.3 seconds is pretty damn fast! :brag:

But Arslanoff's Ford Mondeo is a little special, it has 1000hp. :lovl:

bhp doesn't give you 0-100mph times, torque does and this new engine is a monster....I've always pondered this issue. Isn't torque almost totally dependent about gearing and somehow in contact with bhp:s? I mean, if you for example have a car with 200bhp and 300Nm torque and you tune the engine so that it has 250bph, doesn't the torque increase automatically? Or if you have to cars with same gearing, both has 3,0L V6 and 250bhp, can their max torque differ much? Can you add torque without not getting more bhps or on the contrary?

I somehow can understand how you measure the torque with dyno, but how do you measure bhps at the same time? In short: How does dyno work?

Sorry OT.

Edit: Just thought a little, could it be so that dyno measures what is the maximum strength it can resisist wheels from rolling, but when the car still can start rolling wheels, and then it measures acceleration with that resistance?

Valis,
Torque is more basic notion as well as RPM
HP is based on Torque and RPM.
So if you tune the engine, Torque is raising and thus HP raises also.

Lets talking about it based on two examples, take the M5 and E63. Both produce roughly the same power but at differing peak revs, it's this that explains why their torque figures are so different.

So tell me which is the better more efficient engine? The smart money would say the M5 because it's smaller in capacity but the E63 produces more torque over a much wider range.

Decisions, decisions.:vhmmm:

I think I was on one of the MB boards and they're saying that the E63 doesn't produce as much torque as the old E55? At this point, I think M5 > E55 > RS6 > E63 (purely in terms of speed as a result of torque?)
