It a great time but will either the GT2 or 430 Scuderia be able to beat this time in the hands of Sport Auto.

But it's interesting that we are comparing a hyper supercar with a hot M3 with sticky rubber, it explains what an amazing machine the wee BMW was when it was launched.

Respect.

If true then you will be looking at the future Driver's car of the Year.

Really interesting to see what BMW will do.
Concerning Super Leggera: GT2 official time is 7:32, so it's in another league.
F430 Scuderia is the PRIMARY and main competitor. Surely their times will be more or less similar.

I was under the impression that the time of the GT2 was in the hands of Porsche and not Sport Auto.

Is this not the case.

Leadfoot, agree!

Famous Porsche test-driver (I forgot his name - could you remind please?) could get 7-32 from GT2. Sport Auto may be slower but not for much - they also have a great experience of testing such cars. So it will be BELOW 7-40 for sure!

Could it be the former Rallye world champion, former Audi rallye & touring car driver Walter Röhrl? i'm not sure that Sport Auto is marginaly slower - his driving is from another planet :D

haha what a great car, I love the gallrdo
7:46 is fast, and I belive that the new M3 is going to be an exsample for all futer high preformance cars and supercars.

you know who should be doing all nurinbergring laps?
In my opinion it's either the stig or sabine schmitz, she is a very good driver, and quite hot too... heh :p :p

But I have a question when will lamborghini get a brand new model ?
It's driving me insane, it has been what 4-5 years since their last model (the gallardo)?
Do they have actual plans for a new car?
I mean actual plan not just a concept, like I posted not too long ago.
I want to see something new from them!!!!

They are one in the same, but then there are numerous stigs on Top Gear and all are of a standard equal to and better than Mr Needle. ;)

wait what?
There is more than one stig?
I didn't know that!
I had a minor suspicion but , I still didn't know.
I guess that can explaine why the LP640 did 1.19.8
maybe the stig on that day wasn't very good and the fact it was a cold day blah blah...

But my other question is still valid what about lamborghini?

Yes LamboM, there has been lots of Stigs through the years, I know of at least three, while talking to one of them at another venue his informed me of the other two which he know, one being Sabine and the other I will keep to myself due to where he works. The Stig I was speaking to races the Le Mans series among other things and is very successful.

Cool!!!
And Sabine is a stig? huh, that I would've never guess.
So when jeremy , hammons or may say "He" sometimes it's "she" ?

Please I must see it.
Be sure to take pictures of it.
I'm dying out of curiosity.

But it's not another murcielago or a gallardo is it?
I mean both beautiful, absolutely beautiful cars, but enough is enough, there are too many of them, it's time
for something new and fresh.
And will it get in to production?
Or is it going to be another concept?

It sure is. :) Walter is just amazing behind the wheel, when he takes the S1 around on those gravelroads.. Better than any new DVD movie. ;) Not to talk about the sound! :D

Good time from the Superleggera, but the GT2 will be the daddy. Can't wait!

Personally i would think that Host would have a hard time to go faster in the new GT2 than he did in superleggra.

I agree but still think he will just nip under it's time, I doubt he will get close to the unofficial time by Porsche but to be fair he hasn't been close to either of the times of the RS4 or R8 and no doubt will be close to that of the RS6 neither.

A hard time ofcourse, but I think he will do it. The old GT2 did 7:46 with Horst behind the wheel so the new one will probably be quicker. But who knows actually, anything can happen. Both cars are great! And I admit.. the sound from the Superleggera is something special.

Yes tru, but lets remember that age are a factor when it comes to carrying speead at the fast sections of the ring. Horst seems to well, he is not getting faster on the ring, or i might be wrong. Well i think he manage to but the GT2 just under Gallardo SL

Saw a super leggera at the ring just now, it do sound nice.

In the previous version of a trackday Ferrari it was no quicker on the track than the GT3 so I would expect a similar showing, maybe a little better but no more.

360 CS was faster than the GT3, but it was only marginally faster than the GT3 RS. Really nothing in it.

If the 430 Scud isn't better than the Superleggra i'll feel really let down. I still think the 430 Scud will be the drivers car of the year and im told it laps Fiorano faster than the Enzo

I meant the GT3RS. As for it being quicker than the Enzo, not to play down the possibility that the 430 Scud will be an amazing piece of kit because I have sampled the normal version and was mighty impressive, but EVO got to within a whisker of the Enzo's lap time around the Bedford Autodome with the weedy 420hp R8.

Leadfoot
September 10th, 2007, 16:48
Beford is a tight circuit where its very difficult to put all the power down. Smaller, lighter more nimble cars in the bends will always do well at Bedford.

The last time I looked the Enzo weighed less than the R8 which when all things are considered the wee Audi did an amazing job.

Imagine if Audi did a RS version of the R8. Light weight with a high revving, high powered V10 (575hp), a rival for the very best of them. I doubt it would ever happen in the present position that Audi find themselves in, inside the VAG/Porsche group.

Leadfoot
September 10th, 2007, 17:21
Enzo 1365 kg
R8 1560 kg

Your Right !!! Enzo is still really all about straight line speed

OK, here's another point of view.

The Enzo was co-developed by Michael Schumacher and the R8 was developed by ?????. One does have a better credibility.

Sorry I don't agree that Porsche developed the R8. The question why would spring to mind as surely Porsche in the form of the 997 would have to most to lose. I reckon it was more a swan song for Audi before Porsche finally got their hands on Audi's neck and strangled what ever supercar aspirations their might have had.

2 good options to the Ferrari. Is not my friend's enemy my enemy?

When Porsche take over VAG, who will be the competition then? Two strong alternatives squeezing Ferrari's market share is better than one.*

*Unfortunately Nissan didn't attend that board meeting.

So in your opinion Porsche will allow Audi to develop future versions of the R8. I hope you are correct.

Why not? Variety increases probability of purchase. I mean, why did Audi create the R8 when they have the Gallardo? Subtlely different sub-sections of the same market.

Why then develop a V10 version?????
